I so needed to be reminded of such things. My Kitchen has been in that state far too often then I’d like to admit, and we don’t have a dishwasher either. :)

But it’s so true, that as women we really do try and be our own worst critic. It’s terrible, and hopefully we can each overcome that and realize we really are doing a good job. (well there really are some that aren’t, but most of us are doing a great job)

As I’m sure you are doing a great job!!

I was feeling down and stressed even more than usual this evening. So much that hubby told me to go away and relax for a minute. I am always critical of myself. I have a serious problem with patience, and Amelia is just too feisty sometimes. But then I feel bad about losing my patience. Then I get more stressed. And tired. And the circle continues.

But Amelia doesn’t seem to think I’m a bad mommy. In fact, I’m her favorite person in the whole world! I should stop and remember how GOOD that feels. And let myself agree with her once in a while.

I’m so critical of myself. When I realize that I’m comparing my life to someone else’s I take a step back and tell myself, just because their home is perfectly clean, doesn’t mean that their life is perfect. We all have our struggles and challenges in life. Having a clean home does not make them better parents than I am.

I think women are REALLY critical of themselves in general. I know I am. I am constantly comparing how my house looks to others and berating myself for going to our local pub instead of cooking at home. Ok, yes the pub thing is nice and all I but I am a good cook and I like it so what is my problem? See how easy it was for me to criticize myself? Hand me a drink.
