Aunt Fern's Famous Fudge Recipe
  • 4½ cups sugar
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter
  • 12 oz package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 pint jar marshmallow creme
  • 1 large (4 oz) Ghirardelli chocolate bar (I used semi-sweet)
  • 2 cups walnuts (optional)
  1. In a large pot, add sugar, milk, salt, and butter and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, for 6 minutes.
  2. Have ready in a large mixing bowl the chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, and Ghirardelli bar, broken into small pieces. Pour hot mixture on top of the chocolate and marshmallow and mix until the chocolate is melted and fully combined. Add nuts if desired.
  3. Pour hot fudge into a 9x13 pan and let cool completely.
You can use any chocolate bar, but San Francisco's Ghirardelli chocolate is what made this fudge recipe uniquely Fern's!
