Tue, 18 Jan 2011 18:10:06 +0000https://foodfunfamily.com/?p=5383#comment-22191Resolutions… I wasn’t going to make any either. I do try to exercise, drink water, and get to bed. And I have few excuses, as my children are all grown. But then I spoke with a friend who is remaking her life, and has now lost over 100 pounds. Her best ‘new’ recommendation: cook from Eat This Now, by Rocco Dispirito. Having just made his macaroni & cheese (?!), I am onboard. Everything has tons of flavor, in reasonable portions, and it is fun to have a project to guide my cooking. And I can share it with my husband! Enjoy!

Tue, 18 Jan 2011 03:53:56 +0000https://foodfunfamily.com/?p=5383#comment-22159wow! I just typed a great deal and then accidentally lost it all. grrr… but anyways- I am a new follower from BlogFrog.
Before having my son in 2009 I had decided that I wanted to do something to get in better shape after he was born. Once he was here & we had made it to Texas (my husband deployed & we moved) I joined a gym and changed a great deal of things in my life. All were small changes but they all ended up adding up in the end. I went from 215lbs to 175lbs.
I used a site & read a book that helped a great deal as well. I joined sparkpeople.com & read The Spark. It is all based on small goals to lead up to bigger goals. Rewards are emphasized instead of “failures”. Over all I believe both are great sources for anyone trying to get in better shape. I definetly plan on joining back up once I have given birth to our second child (expected in June/July).
Goodluck with your journey & I look forward to reading all about it!

I have a picture of myself the very first weekend I was pregnant with my first stuck to the fridge. It’s a reminder of the body I’d like to have once again… Actually the photo has gotten buried under other papers. Time to dig it out again!

Mon, 17 Jan 2011 20:21:31 +0000https://foodfunfamily.com/?p=5383#comment-22127Honestly, my one piece of advice from my weight loss adventures is don’t cut out snacks but pick better snacks. :)
My motivation is that I don’t want my kids to be fat and end up on Biggest Loser. I also don’t want to be there myself. But God has given me this one body to take care of (do I sound like Sally Field from the osteoporosis commercial yet?) and I want to do that for Him.

You look beautiful in this photograph as I’m sure you do now, but we are always our own worst critics, right? All that being said: to feel good on the outside, we must feel good within.
I wish you the best of luck and can’t wait to see how it goes! I have a feeling that 2011 will be a great year for you :)
