]]>I’m blaming my utter exhaustion on the kids’ last week of school. Do you feel worn out by the end of the school year like I do? We keep a pretty busy schedule during the summer, but regardless of how much we have going on, one thing is significantly different about the summer….I have a couple of months where I don’t have to wake up before 6am!
It’s the little things…
And now, it’s time for this week’s Delicious Dishes recipe party!

This past weekend, I met my parents and all 4 of my siblings in Chicago for my sister’s wedding.
It was a busy weekend, but one that I will remember and treasure for years. It has been too long since all 5 of the siblings were together at the same time (we usually meet up in smaller groups) and there’s something special about getting the “original 5” together. As much as we love ALL of the in-laws (all of us are married now), there’s a special bond that the 5 of us share.
My “little” sister, Amanda, was 9 when I got married. It’s incredible to see her all grown up. She may have grown a little since way back when before I was married, but that smile she has when she is happy…that’s the same smile and the same Amanda that I have always known and loved.
We adore her new wife, too. Stephanie is a wonderful (and gorgeous!!) addition to the family.
I took most of these photos on my cell phone, and I never did catch a group picture of the family together at the wedding, but I did capture this priceless, never-happened-before shot of all of us dancing together. I even caught some video…but that one’s staying private.
What have you been up to this week? Now it’s time for YOU to show me your best shots from this past week. Link up below and have a fantastic weekend!

2005.
That’s the last time all 5 of my siblings were together at the same time.
And now we’re adding another sister. We kinda love her.
More details to come (with touristy fun in Chicago and lots of wedding photos!).
Sorry for the short post! I’m holding a cute, chubby baby boy right now (my nephew) and desperately need to get some sleep before my job as a tourist starts bright and early tomorrow.
It’s time for you to show off your favorite photos from this past week. What have you been up to?

I have a confession. I got home from my youngest son’s Blue and Gold banquet about 2 1/2 hours ago, and the goal was to come straight up to my computer to get this post ready. But I have become completely distracted by a photo of a dress that most of you have probably seen by now. My daughter showed me the dress tonight at the Blue and Gold Banquet. She asked me what colors I saw.
Blue and faded black, I said.
She ran away, with a crazy look on her face and no explanation for me. She proceeded to ask EVERYONE what colors they saw. White and Gold. I kept hearing it. I was convinced that all of these people were trying to trick me, that there was some weird conspiracy to get those of us not in on the joke to change our minds about what we saw.
I could not be convinced, and I still can’t be convinced. As many times as I’ve seen the photo, and as many times as I’ve tried to squint and cross my eyes to see a different effect, the result is the same for me.
The dress is unmistakably blue and black. (By the way, the real dress IS, in fact, blue and black, in case anyone is wondering). I don’t understand it. I don’t know why this has caused such a controversy on and offline tonight. But it’s time to move on, don’t you think?
This week brought us LOTS of snow. And more snow. My youngest, AJ, was thrilled for our big storm on Saturday and used the opportunity to build an amazing snow cave behind our house. His big brother, T, built a mountain of snow just a short distance away. They were cold, wet….and happy. I stayed inside and baked and made soaps and lotions.
All photos were taken with my Nokia Lumia 830 Windows Phone, which I am currently reviewing (the pics are not edited!). I got the phone for free, and each week I’m doing different challenges on Twitter. Follow the hashtag #LumiaSwitch to see the conversation.

One of the best things about the Fall is PUMPKINS. I love cooking with pumpkin, and there literally is not enough time to bake all of the pumpkin recipes that I would like to try (and try again). I figured that the next best thing to making all of the recipes I’ve found was to round them all up in a post. Here are 24 of the pumpkin treats that I found online.
For even more, check out my Pumpkin Pinterest board, and then link up to your favorite Pumpkin recipes (from your site, Pinterest, or friends’).
Happy baking!
