Only a day and a half left of school before Summer Vacation! This past week was full of summer prep, sunshine, beautiful skies, and excitement (if you call going to breakfast with Disney’s CEO and the First Lady exciting…). We’re getting excited about everything going on this summer. Let the summer break begin!

]]>This week, something wonderful happened. I took more photos with my real camera than I did with my cell phone. Despite my rather short supply of cell phone photos, my week was rather well documented…..and what a week it was! Grandma’s visit, end of school year concerts, and birthday parties. Not to mention the arrival of a brand new camera body for me, purchased with funds from eBay sales (double Yay!). Yes, I totally love my new Canon 60D.

]]>Happy Memorial Day weekend! My mom has been visiting since Thursday, so I haven’t had much time on my computer. Everyone is loving the time with Grandma!

]]>This last week was more exciting than usual at home. My mother in law was here for the week (and to celebrate the birthday she shares with AJ). Nana and I had adventures almost every day, including the adventure of another hernia surgery for Candyman, a trip to the Smithsonian, and the development of caterpillars to crysallys.
Here’s a peek at our week, as seen from Instagram:

]]>Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!
My Mother’s Day started out with a gourmet breakfast made by my two oldest girls. This week has been a particularly pleasant one, with lots of special mom and kid time.

]]>I’m sitting with my kids on this Sunday night, braiding hair and playing games. Sunday is my favorite day now. I have come to appreciate it with new eyes since I’ve been so busy during the weekdays.
Sitting together with the cool breeze coming through the window, with no expectations or tasks that have to get done, is my idea of a perfect afternoon.
The fact that I get a nap most Sundays makes the day even better.
Here’s a peek at the photos I took this past week on my phone. I had a pretty exciting week with a trip back to my original hometown, meeting friends old and new, and sleeping in a fancy hotel room. As wonderful as the trip was, though, I would not trade it for this peaceful Sunday afternoon with my family.

]]>Yesterday Candyman and I celebrated our 17th anniversary…by running around all day. But not with each other. The most time we spent together was 30 minutes or so on a lobby couch while we waited for last night’s short plays to finish (don’t worry, we watched Necco’s play completely). After the plays, we headed out for frozen yogurt…again with all the kids.
Let’s just say that year 17 is not going down as one of the more memorable anniversaries.

]]>I am still recovering from my trip to Florida last week. I came home and jumped right back in to work and family stuff. This weekend we’ve had extra fun family time with my brother and sister in law in town. Let’s just say that my camera has been working over time, and even my phone’s camera has been working like crazy. Here’s a peek at my week:

]]>Can you tell by my 365 photos from this week that we’ve been getting ready for Easter and spending lots of extra time together?
It’s been a great week, with plenty of chocolate, jelly beans, and cousin bonding.

]]>Spring break is in full swing and I’m loving taking it easy for a change. This morning, I woke up at 8:30, without an alarm….and was so happy with myself. Until my husband reminded me that the power to my bed side clock had gone out the day before and the time was actually 10:30.
Oh, glorious Spring Break, when it’s ok to sleep in til 10:30!
Here’s a little peek a what we did last week:
