.
Yep. Chocolate chip cookie dough rice krispie treats. 3 layers of awesomeness. I don’t know what came over me.
I had an idea recently to make a new kind of rice krispie treat. I have no idea if other people have tried this before… but I know that we’ll be making it again. These are a little more complicated than your typical rice krispie treats, but they are in a whole other league.
And I have a feeling that no one really needs me to convince them to try this recipe. The ingredients and pictures can speak for themselves.
PS – it’s totally acceptable to eat some of the cookie dough while you’re working. There are no eggs in the dough so it’s perfectly safe! I didn’t use all of the cookie dough in the middle layer, so we happily snacked on the extras.
Also? As cute as the mini chocolate chips looked on top, they didn’t “stick” to the rice krispie treats, so they all ended up falling off when we ate them. Just a warning.
Can you believe these things? Oh my goodness! Talk about satisfying a craving!

]]>If you’ve been following my recipes for the past year or so, you’ll know that I have a “thing” for rice krispie treats. For 38 years, I only ever made plain rice krispie treats until – BAM – I discovered that I could add different ingredients and flavors to make all-new, totally unique treats. It has changed my life.
I had an idea for a Valentine’s Day-themed rice krispie treat using Jell-O as the flavoring (I should have known it had been tried before….but I swear, the only other pink rice krispie treats I’d seen before had used pink marshmallows. Yes, I thought I was being unique here…).
You will be amazed at how easy these Valentine’s Day rice krispie treats are – and how different they taste with just a small addition. They are definitely one of our favorite variations now!
(Look closely at the pictures of these strawberry rice krispy treats and you may be able to see that I took these pictures in the middle of a snow storm. Outside. Super fun)

I love the taste of berries and white chocolate together, so pairing them in another rice krispie treat variety sounded like perfection.
This rice krispie treats recipe was easy to make as well as sweet and tasty and incredibly moist. Usually, my rice krispies treats tend to be on the dry side if I don’t add a few “extra” marshmallows in. In fact, these white chocolate red berry rice krispie treats were almost too moist and didn’t stick together quite as well as a typical rice krispie treat. Which didn’t stop me from eating a bunch of them… Really, is too moist a problem? I think not.
The white and red colors in these rice krispie treats would make them perfect for your next “red” holiday, like Valentine’s Day or Christmas. What occasion would you like to make these for?
I found this recipe on Redbook magazine and modified it to my taste as usual. For a bunch of other Rice Krispie Treats recipes, check out my round up post.

Over the last several months, I’ve become obsessed with making unique varieties of rice krispie treats. I’ve tried everything from chocolate and peanut butter to caramel and sea salt. It’s hard to pick a favorite (it depends on the day of the week and the mood that I’m in!). I’ve experimented enough now that it’s finally time to bring all of the recipes together into one post.
What is your favorite way to eat rice krispie treats?
These Mint Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats have become one of my most popular posts of all time. They may be St. Patrick’s Day green, but they’re yummy any day of the year.
Chocolate and peanut butter always go well together, don’t they? I love this fairly simple combination – Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispie Treats. It just works!
Sea Salt and Caramel are two of my newest favorite flavors to pair together and they go perfectly well in these Sea Salt Caramel Rice Krispie Treats.
If you love chocolate AND nutella AND nuts and everything else that goes into rice Krispie Treats, then you’ve got to try Nutella Rocky Road Rice Krispie Treats. These are rich but oh-so-amazing.
Butterfingers are one of my all time favorite candy bars. These Butterfinger Rice Krispie Treats are lighter than the candy bar, but I love that the unique butterfinger flavor lingers.
I love cinnamon rolls topped with homemade frosting, but they take SO long to make. These Cinnamon Roll Rice Krispie Treats take less than half the time (no baking!) but they taste just as yummy.
Oh, Oreos! I made these Cookies and Cream Rice Krispie Treats for 5 Minutes for Mom, and I’ve got to warn you: don’t take them to a party unless you don’t want to eat any of them yourself. They disappear fast!
Do you have a unique Rice Krispie Treat recipe that you love? Share it on the linky below (really, this is just an excuse for me to be able to try even more rice krispie treats!).

]]>I’m so glad you’ve stopped by today!
Hungry for a delicious no-bake peanut butter cup rice krispie treats recipe?
I’m back from my 5-day, 1300 mile road trip, and figured that while I’m unpacking and washing load after load of laundry, I’d stop in and share another rice krispie treat recipe.
I’ve tried a few versions of peanut butter and chocolate rice krispie treats (of all the varieties of rice krispie treats that I’ve tried this year, these are probably the most common variety) but this particular combination of ingredients was the most popular at our house.
And by “most popular” I mean that they were devoured within the hour. Who doesn’t love the classic flavor of peanut butter and chocolate together? AND who doesn’t love a quick and easy no-bake dessert?
And now….Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispie Treats!
I found this recipe on Redbook Magazine. Yum! Everyone will love this no-bake dessert.

]]>Yes, I made more rice krispie treats. Shoot me.
These rice krispie treats were so perfect that I may have to call them my favorite rice krispie treat variety ever. I’ve made others that were good – from simple to rich – but these were just perfection.
I don’t know if they even need any more explanation than that.
Enjoy. And try not to eat them all in one sitting.

]]>I don’t know about you, but I adore Butterfingers. And rice krispie treats. OK, I am pretty partial to most sweets.
You can’t go wrong when you pair two favorites – Butterfingers candy bars and rice krispie treats. Oh, and marshmallows. Can’t forget the marshmallows.
I’ve been cooking like a mad woman lately (I’ll apologize now for the abundance of recipes that will be posted), and this has been my most requested recipe. It’s super easy (add Butterfingers to your basic rice krispie treats recipe) and super tasty.
Enjoy!

]]>These amazing mint chocolate rice krispie treats are perfect for St. Patrick’s Day because they’re green…but they’re delicious enough to enjoy all year long. I know we do!
I have been looking for fun ways to get ready for St. Patrick’s Day, so I experimented the other night with rice krispie treats. They’re so versatile that I knew they’d be the perfect “canvas.” The result was delicious – green, lightly minty, and covered with a layer of chocolate.
Just be careful and hide these from any sneaky leprechauns. These treats have a tendency to disappear pretty quickly (and I’m blaming the leprechauns! Wouldn’t you?).
My kids couldn’t keep their hands off these green rice krispie treats. I might have had a *few* of them myself….or maybe I can blame those sneaky leprechauns!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day (soon!). How will you be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day?

]]>In honor of my son’s birthday, I wanted to share the recipe for these delectable rice krispie treats that I made this past weekend. The addition of dry cake mix adds a touch of flavor to the classic rice krispie treats, and the sprinkles add a touch of FUN that will draw the kids (and adults) in…I promise.
I couldn’t get a few of my kids to STOP eating them. I admit I ate more than one myself.

Try my other rice crispy treat variations, too: Cinnamon Roll Rice Crispies and Cookies and Cream Rice Crispies. Yes, we love rice crispy treats around here!

]]>If you know anything about me, you probably know that I have a sweet tooth (my header gives that little fact about me away). I have long held a place in my heart for rice krispie treats, but only recently have I discovered flavored rice krispie treats. Rice krispie treats are simple, but flavored rice krispie treats are simply amazing.
A few months ago, I made cinnamon roll rice krispie treats and had to hold myself back from eating the entire pan. They were that good. I’ve made them a couple times since then, but for some odd reason never got around to sharing the recipe here. I apologize. It took a week of filling in for the 5 Minutes for Mom Food column to make me realize my over-sight and go searching for the pictures I took when I made them back in January.

Recipe based on the recipe I found on Cooking Classy. Thank you, Jaclyn, for such amazing recipes!
