Is it really Thursday already? And the end of the day Thursday to boot? The holiday on Monday and the snow day on Tuesday, followed by exam week at the high school (early dismissals) has made for a very mixed up week.I even missed WordFul Wednesday yesterday because I thought it was Tuesday. How sad is that?
Gotta move forward! Jessica from It’s My Life recently posted 100 things about herself and challenged other bloggers to do the same. So without further ado, here are 100 random things about me.
- I was born in California.
- …in a hospital on a hill.
- I am my mom’s first child.
- My dad died of cancer when I was 2 1/2.
- I got a new dad when I was 4.
- The first house I lived in was on top of my Aunt and Uncle’s garage in their backyard.
- I am visiting my original hometown next month and can’t wait!
- I have a cousin who is 5 days younger than me (he’s the one I get to see next month!).
- I have three sisters and one brother.
- I am shorter than all of my siblings.
- I started ballet classes when I was 4 years old.
- I took ballet until I was 9.
- I had to quit because ballet classes became too intense and were taking up too much time.
- A boy named Sam gave me my first kiss…under the slide in kindergarten.
- I lost my first tooth in first grade and was embarrassed about it.
- I don’t remember finding out the truth about Santa.
- I don’t remember believing in Santa, either.
- My grandma gave me a Madame Alexander doll almost every year for Christmas.
- I collect boxes.
- There are currently 7 books on my nightstand.
- There are 5 different kinds of lotion on my nightstand as well.
- I have four pair of shoes under my desk.
- I learned to crochet when I was 11 and made a baby blanket for my teacher at church. I was so proud.
- My computer is in my bedroom.
- I haven’t had cable since I got married.
- I’ve been married for almost 16 years.
- Sometimes when I’m on my blog, I sing “Lolli, Lolli, Lolli, get your adverbs here”
- I met CandyMan at my apartment complex during my junior year of college.
- Our first date was a double date with our roommates, and we hit it off better than the roommates.
- We became fast friends and started shopping and doing homework together.
- We had our first kiss before we started dating.
- In fact, we were engaged before we started dating.
- We went from best friends to engaged….only 4 months form the time we met.
- We were married 4 months later.
- 11 months after we were married I got pregnant with our first baby.
- A week after taking the positive pregnancy test, we left for Russia.
- I was so sick in Russia that I lost almost 10 pounds during my first trimester.
- I gained back all the weight and then some (plenty) after we got back to the US.
- Baby #1 (KitKat) was born on her due date, Christmas Eve.
- We didn’t find out the sex of any of our children before they were born.
- Pregnancy was very hard on my body (heart and vein issues) but I loved being pregnant.
- I nursed all 5 of my kids….for a total of around 110 months. Isn’t that like 9 years of my life?!
- I have a degree in Early Childhood Education.
- I don’t really want to use my degree.
- I graduated a week before my first baby was born.
- That means I was fully pregnant during my student teaching. Rough!
- I picked up photography after my 3rd son was born.
- Photography helped me FINALLY beat the postpartum depression that snuck up on me.
- I didn’t realize that I had PPD until my first son was almost a year old.
- I love to read.
- I used to write poems and stories.
- Now I write on my blog 5 days a week or more.
- I started blogging in October 2007.
- Before blogging, I was very active on Babycenter, as part of the May 2005 due date club.
- I developed strong friendships in my Babycenter group and met several of the moms in person.
- Blogging has been the same – actually, even better – for me.
- I am shy in person.
- I hate making phone calls.
- The phone gives me terrible anxiety.
- People claim I am a very calm person (people other than my children).
- I spend way too much time online.
- I miss Latin dancing on the weekends.
- I used to go to Latin music clubs to dance all the time in college.
- ….Until I met my husband.
- We never dance together (it kind of drives me crazy. Dancing with him, that is).
- Once, at a dance (last year) a single guy asked me to dance and I had so much fun. CandyMan was in the bathroom….
- I love my husband.
- My must-have make-up is all-day lipstick. I put it on in the morning and it stays on all day.
- I hate the way I look without lipstick.
- I have blue eyes.
- My shoe size is 7 1/2.
- My pant size has gone up a few sizes in the last few years.
- I am currently trying to lose some weight by dancing with the wii (and my friend Safire).
- I love to play pocket frogs on my ipod touch.
- I’m on level 10, in case you were curious.
- Last year, I spoke at two blogging conferences, which was a total thrill for me.
- I love attending conferences and wish I could go to all of them.
- Next month, I get to travel to San Francisco for the trip of a lifetime (with Adobe). Wow!!
- I love hummus.
- I love chocolate more.
- But hummus is better for me, so I am trying to eat more hummus.
- I moved to WordPress in the Fall of 2009.
- I have an idea for a new community blog, but I’m scared to try to take on a new project.
- I have headaches almost every day.
- One of my legs is longer than the other.
- And I have scoliosis.
- I’ve had cancer.
- I also have a heart condition called PSVT (Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia)
- My husband thinks he got a bad deal on a broken wife.
- He still loves me.
- I love driving CandyMan’s truck.
- I loved going on long car trips with my kids.
- I love going on trips without the kids even more.
- Someday I will go on another cruise. I can’t wait.
- My purse is pinkish purple. It’s huge and I love it.
- I cut my kids’ hair.
- I don’t do math in my head. I can’t picture it at all.
- I sleep with 3 pillows.
- I don’t like to snuggle. I prefer my space.
- I think I may have to do another 100 list. The longer I go on, the more things I think of to say.

I think I am a box collector too. We went up in the attic the other day and my husband just looked at me and pointed to the mound of boxes and said “really Jenny”.. I just throw them up there as I get them and forget about it. LOL needless to say he made me get rid of some :(
I’m not much of a phone talker either, but most of my friends are.
