This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of UPS. All opinions are 100% mine.
The holidays are a wonderful time. Sometimes they are “wonderfully busy…” Yes, the holidays can be hectic with everything going on – the shopping, the entertaining, the holiday cards, and the baking. But I love that everyone seems to look outward a little more than usual during the holiday season.
It’s the spirit of giving that is so prevalent during this time of year that makes me love it so much. A little while ago, I introduced you guys to UPS #WishesDelivered. Just as a quick recap, here are the details of this amazing holiday season program:
About #WishesDelivered:
UPS is spreading holiday cheer by inviting everyone, everywhere to share their own heart-felt wish for someone else this season. For every wish submitted online using the hashtag #WishesDelivered, UPS will donate $1 to one of their charity partners (Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club, or Toys for Tots) – up to $100,000!
How to submit your wish: Wishes can be submitted by posting the wish on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #WishesDelivered, or going direct to the #WishesDelivered site and submitting there. Even better: post them on multiple platforms! What better way to spread the holiday spirit of giving than sharing your wishes for someone else and supporting a charitable cause at the same time?
I absolutely adore the story of one little 4-year-old boy who idolizes his UPS delivery man and hopes to one day become a delivery man for UPS, too. The excitement on his little face when he receives a special delivery is priceless. You’ve got to see what he got! It’s adorable what he does with it, too…
And then there was the story of kids from Boys and Girls Clubs choosing their holiday gifts…and selecting a present to give to someone else at the same time. I love seeing kids getting into the spirit of giving and discovering how wonderful it feels to be the giver rather just just the receiver.
It’s stories like these that bring out the best of the holidays.
My Wish:
One of my wishes this year is for my daughter’s high school orchestra (and the entire music department). I am so grateful for the opportunities Necco has had in the music department at school and for the tireless efforts of her teachers. I am grateful that she has had access to instruments to try out…until she found “her” perfect fit.
As a parent to 5 kids who have all taken music lessons over the years, I know how expensive good quality instruments can be. Just recently, Necco got her own viola, but she never would have known that the viola was her perfect match if she hadn’t had access to instruments at school.
My wish this year is for new instruments for the high school music department so that students now and for years to come will continue to have access to good quality instruments…so more kids can find their perfect match, too.
What’s your wish? Share your wishes on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram using the hashtag #WishesDelivered and spread a little holiday cheer!
