That’s what Noodle said about the last two weeks spent at summer camp. Our friends from church own the most amazing summer camp, and they invited my four older kids to camp for the last session to fill in some empty spots. We were happy to help them out! ;)
Before camp started, though, we had no idea just HOW MUCH FUN they could possibly have during a two week period. I told Joe, the owner, that he has ruined every subsequent summer for my kids because NOTHING else will ever compare to this.
When I would pick the kids up every afternoon, I’d listen to what they had done during the day. Some of the highlights: swimming in the pool twice a day, a once-a-week trip to the lake with horse back riding, zip lining, canoeing, and water trampoline, arts and crafts, bungy trampoline jumping, music and drama, olympics, box car racing……You get the picture.
Today was parent’s day. I had lots of fun watching the kids perform the dances they’d worked on for 2 weeks. Here’s a bunch of kids dancing to “peanut butter.” 
Kiwi found a kindred spirit at camp. She went everywhere with her new friend! Even the amusement park (when we handed in our paper work before camp, and Kiwi found out the teens had a day trip planned for an amusement park, she was SO happy!)
Noodle was proud to show off her baby brother to all of her new friends.
Noodle was nervous before camp started because 3 dogs live at the Ranch. She has known these dogs since she was a baby, but she has always been scared of them. When we go over there for dinner or activities, she spends her time on top of picnic tables or in the closed fish’s room. She made HUGE progress this week and was very friendly with the dogs (these dogs are probably the best dogs ever, since they are surrounded by little kids–and LOTS of them–all the time).
Noodle shined in her group’s dance. She had a speaking part at the beginning, and then she danced right out in the front middle like she was the lead! Go Noodle!
She made some great friends, too!
Taco found a special friend at camp. I was very happy when he made some friends because the first day, he came home feeling a little sad about not meeting anybody nice. I think that first day was a little overwhelming for everybody!
Everybody made kites today in arts and crafts (including Apple!). I found Taco trying out his new kite while I was trying to round up the kids to go home (it was not easy to pull them away today).

Reese was in the youngest group at camp. She had a fabulous time. It cracked me up everyday to hear about little Reese on the zipline or jumping on the bungy trampoline.
While I was there today, I was amazed at how many people knew her. Kids of all ages and counselors from different age groups would call out, “Hey Reese!” and then I’d hear the other campers say to their parents, “That’s Reese. She’s SO cute!”
When the Kindergarten girls started their song (they sang You Are My Sunshine) Reese had her own cheering section. You can see her waving to some of her fans.
Apple has been asking daily if he could go to camp with the big kids. He keeps asking if he can go to camp when he eats all of his lunch and dinner and gets big like “you”. Speaking of lunch, he has been packing a brown bag lunch for himself every day right alongside the big kids. He was thrilled to be able to stay for a while today.
It was an awesome week!! Not only were the kids having tons of fun, but I got to do some fun summer-time activities with just ONE child. What a difference!! Now one more week with the kids home, and then my one week at my Mom’s house for Education Week, and then SCHOOL is back in!!
