Haircut and Tears

As anyone who read my last post could see, AJ was in sore need of a haircut. KitKat is our resident hair cutter. She has been dying to cut AJ’s hair. Today was the day. He was very brave.

Apple kept his mouth and eyes shut tight until she was done. Lots came off, and he looks super cute now.

Surprisingly, AJ didn’t shed any tears. The tears were mine. Tonight, KitKat, Neeco and I finished reading aloud the 3rd of a series by Lois Lowry. The first of the trio–The Giver–is one of my favorite books. I read it in college, and it was so much fun to read it again with the girls (I tried including the younger kids, but their interest faded). They couldn’t wait to read the second book.
The second book, Gaithering Blue, was fabulous, and we rushed to get the 3rd…..
We finished the 3rd book, Messenger, in about 3 days. We Loved it! I cried through the last chapter. Bad. KitKat and Neeco laughed at me! But that’s ok, it was worth it. If you haven’t read these books, go to the library now. They’re so good!
