It’s HOT here. Saturday is supposed to be record-breaking temps in the 100s. If it weren’t for the activity we have with other kids at church in the morning, and the wedding reception of the century in the afternoon, I’d just spend the entire day at the pool, sipping ice cold soda. (Disclaimer–the reception really isn’t the event of the century….I just really like the bride and groom. They’re favorites of mine, and I wouldn’t miss their party for all the air conditioning in the world).
Speaking of the pool, I invited two of my favorite twins with me to the pool this afternoon (and their mom, sister, and cousin…). They did swimmingly well for their first time in a pool this year.
Safire, Mommy to those adorable little guys, and I have been exercising together! After exercising on Tuesday morning, we found ourselves together again that night. After visiting our friend in the hospital, we decided that ice cream was the perfect way to top off a warm night. In the middle of eating my enormous waffle cone from Bruster’s (the best ice cream in the world) the humor in our situation dawned on me. Doesn’t it figure that I finally start exercising, and I celebrate by pigging out on ice cream?
It was totally worth it!
And you can believe that Safire and I will be pigging out some more when we go to BlogHer together in two weeks. Woot!

You are not kidding! And I just found out I’ll be traveling again in September. Pretty soon, my husband’s going to start complaining. Luckily, Nana is coming to visit with the kids while I’m gone to BlogHer, so the kids won’t even miss me! Well, less at least. :)

Isn’t it crazy?! For the majority of the time, the entire pool was OURS (plus 3 other people). It gets busy on the weekends and in the evenings, but most people work during the day, so it is completely empty!

Swimming is the PERFECT way to cool off in the summer. I can’t believe that none of those chairs are filled with people. Our swimming pool is PACKED all the time. Like crazy packed! I can’t usually even find a chair for our towels.
