My Poor Fussy Little Boy

Sunday, January 25, 2009 by Lolli Leave a Comment

Notice anything different about my sweet, happy little boy?

Well, unless you had spent the last few days in my house you wouldn’t know that he has been extremely whiny and fussy and clingy lately. Driving me crazy. Yes, this sweet little boy has been driving me bonkers.
Apparently, he’s been driving everyone else a little crazy, too, and not everyone in the house has as much self control as me. Ahem.
I was up in my room with CandyMan, putting bloxes and bins up in the attic when I heard One Child scream, “Mom! Come down here quick!! AJ is bleeding. Really BAD!” I ran downstairs to find blood all over the carpet, a screaming 3 year old holding his mouth, and Another Child looking guilty. The yellow plastic BAT was on the floor nearby. Apparently, AJ was being a pest, the 2 kids were playing with/fighting over the bat, and one thing led to another….

I ran to the sink to rinse AJ off, try to slow down the bleeding, and inspect the damage. Good news: no broken teeth, no permanent damage. Just a nasty busted lip.

Meanwhile, that Other Child got triple dishes duty for the week (usually it’s split 3 ways) and AJ became even more fussy than usual. He walks downstairs just to ask me to carry him upstairs. He expects me to simple sit and hold him. And who can say no to a face like this?

He was in good spirits when I cooked clam chowder for dinner tonight. He gave the camera some good faces. The sad thing is….he’s been looking like this all day. He sticks his lips out so that they don’t touch (and hurt). He keeps slurping his spit and asking me to wipe his nose. If he didn’t look so pitiful, it would almost be amusing.

Life is never dull in a house of 5 kids.
