It’s time again for MamaKat’s Writer’s workshop! Here are her prompts for this week:
1.) If you were starring on American Idol TONIGHT and HAD to sing, what song would you choose and why.
2.) Take a picture of yourself right this minute without primping and explain to us why it is you have not washed your hair today.
3.) I just asked Pat to help me with a writing prompt so here’s his: “What do you think about the NBA All Star game”…blech.
4.) What’s your number one pet peeve? Develop a punishment for anyone caught in the act.
5.) Write about something mean you did to a sibling growing up.
So….I thought about posting a picture of me in all my morning beauty. But what would I have to say? Hi. I’m Lolli and I have bad hair and frumpy clothes?
I don’t sing in front of other people. Only my kids do that.
I’m sure I could find a pet peeve to write about (I can’t STAND eating sounds. The chomping of jaws, the smacking of lips…..they are worse to me than fingers on the chalkboard!)
But I decided to confess to a mean thing I did to a sibling growing up.
I was just practicing on them for my mean mom days.
What do you think of my 80s mullet hair-do? Yes, I’m the girl holding the baby (my youngest sister)
I am the oldest child in my family. My next sister is 4 years younger. I spent quite a bit of time babysitting my brother and sisters. I could control them with just a look. My wide open eyes scared them to death, and they would do whatever I wanted. I think it still freaks them out a little.
I’m the one with blue hair. How scary was I??
But scary eyes were nothing compared to the way I used to torture my little brother. At night, I would hide in his closet behind the clothes and wait until he was settled in bed. When all was peaceful, I would jump out of the closet with my nightgown over my head, arms out stretched, using my scariest voice. I sometimes wonder if I gave him nightmares, and if he remembers my night time torture. I really am a nice girl. Really. Well, except to my siblings. And my kids.
I’ve never hidden in my kids’ closets and scared them at night, though.
I HAVE threatened them with scary eyes, however. It still works like a charm.
The best part of this picture–my Sweet Valley High book collection in the book shelf behind me. And don’t I look like the NICEST sister ever here??
Hey! Will you do me a favor?? Would you vote for my picture of Twizzler on I Heart Faces? It’s quick and easy. Just click on the little circle above his picture. I’d love to get some votes for the favorite “winner” from January. Thanks!! Click HERE to vote — scroll down a little til you see this photo:
