Yesterday morning, before the kids even left for school, I started baking cookies. Mmmm! Don’t you love the smell of cookies baking in the oven? I TRY not to bake too often (because I have no self control when it comes to eating food that’s in the house)….but I end up finding plenty of excuses to try new treats or bring back old favorites.
My excuse yesterday was a lunch get-together with a few friends. I HAD to make cookies, right?
I spent time with 6 friends yesterday at different times, and by the end of the day I was left feeling overwhelmed by the goodness of the people around me. The small acts of kindness to the big acts of service. The smiles and hellos to the hours-worth of conversations. The lunches with the kids running around to the late girls nights out while the kids are in bed.
Nothing is better than a day spent with friends.
Not even White Chocolate and Craisin Oatmeal Cookies. (recipe soon to follow)
PS–Did you notice a few changes around here? I am so excited to have had the chance to work with Jen from Following the Footsteps, who has added lots of fun things around here! What do you think? Jen has been so much fun to get to know this past week since I won a blog makeover from her during the SITS Spring Fling. Since I didn’t want to completely change my page, Jen was kind enough to spend the extra time (and headache, I’m sure) to add and tweak and change things just a little (it’s always easier to start from scratch on something like this!) Go check out Jen’s design blog, too. She has tons of great free layouts!!
Thanks, Jen!
