Writers Workshop (On a Roll!)

Thursday, April 16, 2009 by Lolli Leave a Comment

Maybe I needed that Spring Break last week, because I swear I feel like I found my voice again. Even though I currently feel like I am falling apart (super tired, swelling in the face, sore knee….Blah, Blah, Blah!) I have SO much to SAY! So, I figured I’d answer ALL of MamaKat’s prompts for the writer’s workshop today. Why not? (sleep? dishes? Oh, great! I forgot about the dishes! Kids?)

1.) If I sent you four hundred dollars today what is ONE thing you would spend it on and why.

I would buy half of a lens for my camera. Um, I take that back. I couldn’t even buy half of what I want right now. My wide angle lens has gone kaput, and I really miss it. But I want to replace it with a nicer lens anyway, and those are even more expensive. Can you increase the gift please?

2.) What are your kids talking about?

They are talking about KidZui.com. I was told about this new game site for kids and was asked to give it a try. The kids LOVE it. They (particularly Twiz and Reese) come home, do their dishes and their homework SUPER quick so they can have computer time. Twiz even beat that this morning when he woke himself up, did his dishes without saying a word to me, and then woke me up to ask for computer time. I was snoozing on the couch at the time, between getting KitKat off to school and having to get the other kids ready…..Later, when I went to the bathroom, I discovered that he had ALSO cleaned the bathroom. He didn’t dry the seat off….

3.) Tell us about a local news story that’s all the buzz right now in your neck of the woods.

This is easy! The town’s all a-buzz about how HORRIBLE this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll was! After all of the complaining that I did about not being able to go, it turns out that I may have been the lucky one. My sis and friends waited in 2 hours of lines to get inside and then were turned away after 45 minutes inside the White House gates. There were far too many people there, which meant LINES. Crowds. No food. No free book and gift bag. Nada. I won’t compain anymore.

4.) Share some blogging advice.

Um, how about Always add a picture to your post.
And Break your own rules.

5.) Tell us about that time at the playground when that thing happened.

You mean the time I found AJ peeing? (and again and again)
That’s boring.
