Samsung NX300 Camera Giveaway #30SummerDays

I love taking pictures, but if you’ve been following my blog for the last year or so, you know that I’ve struggled with taking pictures FOR FUN. It’s all about work (which for the last several months has meant that I’ve been taking a lot of pictures of food…which I suppose is not an altogether bad thing).

When Staples offered to send me a camera – along with a 30-day summer-kick-off photo challenge – I jumped at the opportunity. Sometimes I need a challenge to get me to do what I already know I should be doing anyway. (Note: though I received a camera, all thoughts and opinions are my own).

The #30SummerDays photo challenge with Staples was just the push that I needed. Having both a photo challenge AND a beautiful, portable, WiFi-enabled camera totally motivated me to get out there and take more pictures of the fun, funny and often beautiful things happening around me.

Here’s my new little toy – the Samsung NX300 20.3 MP SMART Microless Camera With 20-50 mm Lens.

Details: Samsung 20.3MP smart compact wi-fi enabled camera in white with 2.5x zoom and 3.3″ touch screen AMOLED display features a lens of 20 mm to 50 mm focal length. Camera has 5472 x 3648 & 1920 x 1080 image and video resolution respectively.

Perhaps the most exciting thing about this camera is its WiFi capability. You can upload pictures straight to Facebook or videos straight to YouTube. You can edit pictures right on the camera, using the super-easy-to-use touch screen and then email them to a friend. Or yourself.

I LOVE IT.

I also love how LIGHT it is (under 12 ounces!) – which makes it easy to wear around my neck all day or carry in my purse. I’ve been accustomed to carrying an enormous camera bag around all the time (probably the reason I’ve gotten lazy about taking my big dSLR on outings).

I could go on and on about everything I love about this camera (like the video! And the interchangeable lenses!!) but let me have the photos speak for a minute…

  13. I think it’s pretty awesome that you can edit the pictures right on the camera and then e-mail them to yourself. The only camera I have is my android phone, and e-mailing them to myself from there is a nightmare every time.

  28. I like its wi-fi feature. When we go on vacation, I always forget the card reader that allows me to plug in the camera’s memory into the laptop. I’m never able to see our pics until we get home. This would solve that!

  113. I LOVE the wifi on this camera! I tried to “retrofit” my Canon T3i with an eye-fi card, and it was so fussy! I’m definitely in love with the idea of a smart camera, and being able to share directly from the device itself!

  128. There are a lot of great features about the Samsung NX300 but I’d have to say my favorite are the 1/6000 sec shortest shutter speed and longest being 30 second. This is such a great feature to have, especially when you’re as obsessed with action and light shots as I am!

    I also really love the WiFi feature, I’d take advantage of backing up my images every chance I got!
