We’ve been missing Peanut Butter since he’s been in Egypt these last 2 weeks. Everyone has been very excited to see him again tomorrow. Yep, tomorrow’s the big day when Daddy comes home!
Except that I just got an e-mail from PB saying that they have to stay another week. That’s right, I get to do the single-parent thing for another week while he’s working in Egypt. This stinks! I am really NOT looking forward to telling the kids that Daddy’s not coming home tomorrow. Reese has been the saddest. I know she’s going to have a hard time with this news. Anybody else want to break it to her for me?
Honestly, the last two weeks have gone much better than I could have expected. Other than the time that I got sick. And the fact that the clothes dryer seems to be screaming, “I’m about to go out! I’m about to go out!” as it squeeks my clothes dry. The kids have been good, I’ve been watching lots of movies at night, the house is decently clean, and I’ve had the bed all to myself (except for my sleep-over!). I know I can handle another week. I was just ready to be done. Y’know?
Just for fun, here are two pictures of PB from this summer. The first is PB being his typical goofy self under the sign for a place he’s wanted to visit for years…..Franklindale, Pennsylvania (can you guess why he wanted to stop by Franklindale??). PB found Franklindale on a map years ago and started planning what he’d say when he walked into the post office. In reality, we were lucky to find a sign at all. That white house in the background was the biggest house in town. The only other town attractions were the Franklindale Church and the Llama farm (next to the church). No stop lights. No post office. No McDonalds. No people anywere in sight. But he got his picture in front of the sign, and so he was happy.
We also stopped at Niagra Falls this summer, and I caught this second picture of PB with the kids with the Falls in the background. Come back soon, Daddy!
