When my kids were babies, they spent the early morning hours in bed with me. Sharing the bed with my little ones was my last effort to get in a few extra hours of sleep. I desperately needed that extra sleep.
My kids would be bumped out of the coveted spot in my bed when a new brother or sister was born. For me, the process just started over again. New baby, more time up and down at night, more need for that extra sleep in the morning.
AJ, my youngest, never had a younger sibling to bump him out of the spot in my bed. Most mornings, I wake up to find that he has crawled into bed with me and Daddy. He climbs in quietly enough that I usually don’t notice him until my alarm wakes me up.
Usually it’s all good. I get to cuddle with my little guy, and he’s not up at the crack of dawn begging me to get up to entertain him.
However…. AJ has a little problem with bedwetting. Every once in a while, he’ll fall asleep without the standard before-bed preparations. And sometimes he changes into “day clothes” in the early morning hours before coming into bed with me.
On those mornings, my alarm doesn’t wake me. Instead, I roll over in my sleep and snap instantly awake when I sense wetness.
Wet mornings are not good mornings for us. When MY bed is involved, it’s a disaster. As annoying as frequently washing his bed sheets is, it is a tragedy when he has an accident in MY bed.
Thank goodness for GoodNites® and the ability for AJ to safely snuggle in bed with me every morning. He gets what he wants (mommy time) and I get what I want (a dry bed).
Ok, I admit it – I enjoy the cuddling time, too.

it is SUCH a pain to wake up to wet sheets. Especially when they are your own. Our’s hasn’t had a night accident in a few months, fingers crossed this will continue and he’s growing out of it.
Didn’t know you are one of the other GoodNite’s bloggers. :)

It really is a pain to wake up to wet sheets, isn’t it? I hope that you can find something that works better. :)

I can so relate to the wet bed thing. It is a major time kill when I have to wash both my sheets and theirs unexpectedly.
I have been using pull-ups and they are just not cutting it.
Every morning someone is waking up wet.
I am going to have to switch to goodnites.
