Today is a big day in the blogosphere. January 9, 2012 marks the official launch of Mom Bloggers for Social Good, in which 400 moms from nine countries have joined together to do good.
So much of the media is focused on the negative things that are going on in our world, but I believe that there are people doing good things everywhere, every day, and I am proud to be one of the founding members of a group that is actively helping others.
The goal of Mom Bloggers for Social Good is to spread the news, fundraising initiatives, and advocacy campaigns of various charity partners in the following areas of concentration:
- Children
- Education
- Maternal Health
- Fair Trade
- Workers’ Rights
- Environment and Climate
- Communicable Disease
- Non-Communicable Disease
- Access to Clean Water and Sanitation
- Food Security
- Malaria and Tuberculosis
- HIV / AIDS
- Women and Girls
