I made it through the week blogging about my daily activities with Adventuroo!
Friday was an incredibly busy day, but since it is BOTH well after midnight AND my birthday, I am going to be quick with today’s recap.
I spent the morning and early afternoon finishing up a HUGE project for work. I finished (hallelujah!) and turned it in with enough time to make a trip to the Aldi’s to buy ice cream, whipped cream, and other goodies (plus a cake down the street) before the kids came home.
Once the school day was over, everyone’s attention turned to cleaning the house for our Wii Play Motion party tonight. (Some kids needed more convincing than others…)
When the house was cleaned, my husband said, “We should throw Wii parties more often. The house looks great!”
I set everything up (everyone LOVED these little labeled jars for all of the ice cream toppings!), took some pics, and then waited for the guests to arrive.
I even bought myself a birthday cake (it was yummy! Apple spice cake with caramel frosting).
Once my friends showed up, we sat around chatting and working on a puzzle before heading into the kitchen for ice cream sundaes and cake.
Even though I was hoping to throw a Mom’s Night In type of party, my kids ALL wanted to be involved, plus my older girls invited some of their teen friends, so we had a nice mixed age party.
My kids loaded up on the ice cream and chips….and didn’t fall asleep until 11:45. Oy!!
The point of the party was to showcase the new Wii game: Wii Play Motion. Nintendo sponsored the party, the ice cream sundae bar, and the games. I supplied people (8 guests plus my 7!), the Wii and the house.
It was the best night we’ve had in a long time.
Everyone’s favorite game by far (adults, kids, and teens alike) was Spooky Search, followed by Wind Runner, and then Skip Skimmer. We needed a few more hours of party time to be able to play all of the games together.
Disclosure: As a party host, I received from Nintendo a copy of Wii Play Motion, 3 remotes, all the supplies needed for an ice cream bar, party favors for guests, and a party gift for one lucky party attendee. I was not obligated to blog about it, but since it was conveniently held the day before my birthday AND during my Week in my Life series, I figured I HAD to talk a little about it. Plus, I really, really love my Wii and these games are SO much fun!
