Can you believe I was crazy enough to drag all 4 younger kids to Kit Kat’s middle school chorus concert tonight? Not only did I make them sit through the concert, but we got there 45 minutes early because I was NOT going to drive all the way home and back again after dropping KitKat off.
I was really worried about Twizzler (he’s had a LOT of energy lately….and when I say a lot I mean can’t-hold-him-down a LOT). Wooden bleachers are not only FUN for little kids, but they’re also very LOUD. Well, guess what I did? I bribed him. I told him I’d give him back the 50 cent piece that he had payed me with earlier today if he would sit still for the rest of the evening. Guess what he did? He sat down with the book that he had previously refused and read until he finished it (which, miraculously was during the last song of the night). IT CAN BE DONE! He CAN sit still! Well, now I know. And I WILL use that knowledge against him. :)
Back to the concert….it was short and sweet. This is KitKat’s teacher’s first year teaching, and her very first concert on her own. She was so proud at the end that she got a little teary talking to the parents about the kids. So sweet!
