I’ve been enjoying looking through some of the pictures from Comic Con in San Diego. I remarked to my husband tonight that I never thought that I would have any desire to be at Comic Con…but here I am at 38 wishing I was there.

Here’s a quick sneak peek at Catching Fire at Comic Con – one of my most highly anticipated movies of 2013 (funny story – we’ve been arguing at home this past week whether the movie was called simply “Catching Fire” or if The Hunger Games was included in the title. The official word is that the movie IS, in fact, called “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”).

If you’re unfamiliar with the story line of the second Hunger Games book, here is the official synopsis:
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Returning to the second movie are Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket and Lenny Kravitz as Cinna. A few of the new characters to join Catching Fire are Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair, Jena Malone as Johanna Mason, and Lynn Cohen as Mags.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.
