Our house finally looks like Christmas!
It’s funny how things change as the kids get older. We used to gather all 5 kids in the minivan and head out to pick out the perfect tree together.
Now? The older kids have homework and, frankly, no interest in heading out on a cold night to pick out a tree. They said they trust our judgement.
So CandyMan and I drove to the Home Depot (because we’re purists that way) with Reese and AJ, who were thrilled to have mom and dad to themselves for a little while. We found a tree that we all agreed on, loaded it on top of the van, and headed home to decorate.
It’s amazing how a tree in the front room can make the holidays come alive for me. It wasn’t until we had the tree up that it really felt like Christmas to me. And, suddenly, it’s days away. Yikes!

Hooray! I LOVE our Christmas tree. We actually put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving and it has been so nice. I love to just sit and look at it in the evening when the kids are all asleep.
That gingerbread house is so great!
