“Yeah, right! You’re foolin’. There aren’t any dinosaurs buried out here. It’s an April Fools joke, right?”
“What? You mean we’re really digging for dinosaur bones? Can I use the hammer and chisel?”
“Don’t people get paid to do this for real?”
“Look! I found a bone! This looks kinda familiar. Are you sure this is a dinosaur bone?”
“I want to dig for bones when I grow up! This is so cool!”
A few saved chicken bones+a bucket of plaster that was sitting around my “assistant’s” house+a few tools=the coolest scout activity ever!
OK, so maybe it wasn’t THAT exciting, but Twizzler DID rush home to tell Dad all about it and let him know that HE wanted to do that when he grows up.
I just had to add this silly face in at the end. After digging for dinos, we played a game of Emotions Charades (one of the Fishful Thinking Ingredient activities). I found it interesting that the boys could GUESS the emotions a lot easier than they could ACT OUT the emotions.
Have I mentioned that I love scouts?
I love scouts.
