Kids: Get Your Craft On at #ShineOn Events at GapKids

Friday, August 10, 2012 by Lolli 1 Comment

This post is sponsored by GapKids. Check out all the fun Shine On activities at your nearest Gap store. For event dates and locations, visit Gap’s Facebook page and join the conversation on Twitter with hashtag #ShineOn.

I suppose that now that it’s August, I can’t deny it anymore…it is definitely Back to School season. Believe it or not, we’ve finished all of our BTS shopping and even have packed back packs ready to go in the front room. Now, summer homework packets….that’s a totally different story (in their defense, my kids are very good about doing their homework during the school year, but the summer math and reading packets have been all but neglected by some of the kids…).

Are YOU ready for Back to School? Maybe a little ease back into the swing of things and a new outfit or two would help.

This Saturday bring your kids to a Gap near you to do a DIY project at one of their Shine On activities at GapKids locations around the country.

Each week features a unique Do-It-Yourself project designed by craft blogger Merrilee Liddiard of Mer Mag. The projects were inspired by the GapKids and babyGap fall collection and are designed to help kids express their creativity. Starting tomorrow, head to GapKids to make geometric art (8/11), create your own journal (8/18), and make an animal character badge (8/25).

In addition to the fun DIY craft projects at each Shine On event, you can preview the GapKids and babyGap fall collections, including Jewel Box Skinnies for girls (age-appropriate skinny jeans in bright stretchy denim) and Action Stretch Denim for boys (denim designed to move during sports and play). How cute are these kids?
