It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Wednesday, December 9, 2009 by Lolli 4 Comments

Two of my favorite things about the Christmas season (besides the candy) are the lights and the music. On Monday night, we combined those two favorites with a traditional trip to the Washington DC temple for the Festival of Lights and a concert from a great local high school jazz ensemble.

We enjoyed a tour through the International Creche display. I’m assuming creche means nativity? Whatever the name or the meaning, it was fascinating. Each set was so unique to the culture it came from.

After the lights and the nativities, we sat down in the enormous theater for a concert. It must have been good….the kids sat still and never complained or fidgeted through the entire thing.

I have been keeping busy. Concerts, dentist and orthodontist appointments, visits to Santa, Christmas shopping, a book I really want to finish, and the normal things that keep me busy. Add to that my move to WordPress yesterday and my eagerness to learn all I can about this new platform…..and I am a little behind on my blogging. Just know that I am still here….even if I might not be updating in everyone’s blogroll quite right for the moment.

Let me hear from you! What are your favorite things about this season?

I love the pics! I am enjoying all the baking–we’re giving baked gifts to all our friends and neighbors and the kids have helped in the kitchen. Fun stuff!

Wow, great low light shots. The one of the LDS temple is fantastic.

    Happy WW!

My favorite things about this season are (sadly) the cookies… and the gift buying and the excitement in the air. Doesn’t it just seem tangible? I love that : ) Hope the rest of your concerts are fun!

PS LOVE your new comment thing : ) Is it going to remember me forever?

Yep, creche = nativity! Oh, I’m jealous you got to go to the DC lighting! My husband and I got engaged at that temple, so it’s a special one to me :-)

I love baking and our Christmas Eve Eve party. This will be my son’s first Christmas, so I’m really excited about that too!
