It’s Like Picking Your Favorite Child

Thursday, October 8, 2009 by Lolli 1 Comment

All day Tuesday I felt guilty about not writing a tribute to my favorite blogger(s) for Mayhem & Moxie’s Tribute Tuesday. My friends at Mayhem & Moxie have offered an adorable tutu as a prize for one of their Tribute Tuesday participants. How can I resist? So I was thrilled when Mama Kat gave me another opportunity to tribute some of my favorite bloggers for today’s Writers Workshop.

So who are my favorite bloggers?

Oh, wait. I actually have to answer that now?

I remember now why I had such a hard time writing anything earlier this week. Picking a favorite blogger is like picking a favorite child. Angie said the same thing on Tuesday, and when I read her post I knew that was exactly the way I was feeling.

OK, so I will pick a few bloggers that have made a difference in my life (or my blog’s life). First, I have to mention Safire, my real-life friend, writer at Living in Maryland. I’m actually hanging out with her HERE today. She was my friend before I knew about blogs. We got to know each other when we were both pregnant with our 4 year olds, who were born just about a week apart. Safire is the one I blame for getting me started on blogging, and later, she was the one who got me into a daily writing habit…which changed my blog forever.

And I would be remiss if I did not mention my Girls, who were some of my favorite bloggers before we started scheming together….but now are some of my best friends. Francesca at Mayhem & Moxie, Angie at 7 Clown Circus, Mama Kat at Mama’s Losin’ It, and Jill at Scary Mommy. They make me laugh on a daily basis, and they offer support and friendship just as often. Plus, they challenge me to be a better friend, mom, and blogger.

Next week, Jill and I are taking a little day trip to New York (exciting stuff that you will HAVE to come back to hear all about) and then I’ll be flying to Las Vegas to meet the rest of my Mighty friends–for the first time. I can’t wait! And to top it off, my birthday is right in between the two trips. Do you think I can handle all the excitement? I’m not sure. But I sure hope so.

Go check out Tuesday’s Tribute and the Writer’s Workshop to see what everyone else is writing about today.
