A year ago, I discovered an exercise program that I actually enjoyed doing and I found it in an unexpected place….In my basement
My husband has been anti-video game for as long as I can remember (and we’ve been married for almost 17 years…). We’ve never had video games or video game platforms, and although he thought that the Wii was really cool the first time he tried it out at our friend’s house, he was reluctant to get one in our home….UNTIL he saw how active I was and how much I was enjoying myself dancing a few times a week with my friend Safire and Just Dance 2 on her Wii.
After I danced on Team Leticia for the Just Dance 2 dance-off at Type-A Parent Conference in June, I was sold. I HAD to have a Wii so that I could do Just Dance at home. In July, I finally convinced CandyMan that a Wii would keep us active and have loved having it since.
The reason Just Dance works so well for me as a form of exercise is that I really have fun doing it. I find myself WANTING to dance, and I love that my kids will dance along with me. It’s active bonding time.
In October at Blogalicious, I was able to try out some of the songs on Just Dance 3 for the first time, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the game for myself. Even though we already had Just Dance 2 at home, I was eager to get the newest version of the game for the new songs and features….and Just Dance 3 did NOT disappoint.
Here’s a little bit about what makes Just Dance 3 so special:
Just Dance 3 includes over 45 tracks from a variety of genres and artist including some of today’s hottest hits like “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO, “California Gurls” by Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg, and “Forget You” by Cee Lo Green. Also included are old favorites like “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” by Kiss.
My favorite feature, other than having so many new songs to dance to, is the new gameplay called “Dance Crew” which features 4-part choreographies so each dancer has their own moves and each person has the chance to be in the spotlight. It is the perfect party game (and amazingly, we got a bunch of our husbands to dance along and LIKE it at a get-together last month!)
I personally like playing in Just Sweat mode (and let the Wii pick a random song for me) when I’m dancing by myself for exercise. When we’re dancing together as a family, we just take turns picking the songs we like. There’s always lots of laughter while we play.
Have you tried Just Dance 3 yet? What are your favorite songs?

It’s nice to hear another family that was anti-game system but loves the wii. I find that it gives my kids more opportunities to be active, which I love!

Hey Sweet Lolli! Both my man and I were vehemently anti-game systems as well for a LONG time. This Christmas, Santa brought a Wii, and like you, We LOVE it….ESPECIALLY Just Dance. She-Twin got JD1 & JD2 from us, but we’ve yet to try JD3….you make a great sales pitch! :)
Hope you and yours are well!

This is the first I’ve heard of Just Dance… You make it sound so appealing. I might have to try it.
Have a great dancing day.
