Last Friday, I was at the park with the kids wearing my flip flops and a pair of capris that I had pulled out of the Summer clothes bag in storage. 80 degrees felt like heaven. The kids kept making comments about Spring finally being here. I told the kids not to get used to the warm weather. It’s only February, after all.
I never expected to see this on Tuesday morning:
AJ was the only one interested in braving the cold and actually playing in it. The rest of us just enjoyed the two-hour delay for school. While I was standing on the porch taking pictures of AJ playing at the bottom of the steps (in my flip flops, no less) I noticed the snow melting off the mail box and I became enthralled with the dripping water. 30 degrees and snowing might not be as enjoyable as 80 and sunny, but there is beauty in the Winter, too.

Your drip shot is AWESOME!
Love the dripping water photo.
We had 50’s one week and then 12+ inches of snow the next. Craziness. I’m so ready for Spring.
Well I think we have had something like 88 inches of snow this winter. That give you any ideas?
Oh I hear ya mama! We did the same thing here! Flipflops to boots. UGH.
Spring can not come soon enough…
ps That picture. WOW!
Beautiful! It is amazing to me the vast differences in weather in this country of ours!
Love the second photo.
Beautiful droplet! I can never get any good shots of the water droplets. Never… lol
Gotta say, love the watermark, that has to be one of my all time favorite fonts. :]
What lovely shots –both of them!
Did he make a snow angel? I would’ve dived in there first thing! :)
Still warm here, but I know we’ll have another cold blast before Spring is sprung.
That 2nd photo is stunning!
He did have fun, although this last snow storm was nothing like what we got at the beginning of the month (or was it January??) and so he got bored faster.
And what would your backyard look like right now? Or do I want to know?? ;)
No, not extremes like this. I would love to be back in my California weather. I don’t like this!!
I miss those days, too. We’d all go out together…yes, even me. I’ve got 3 fans of snow, and 2 that would rather avoid it. But this week, the other kids were not interested at all. :)
It’s funny, since we haven’t had that much snow. But my kids grew tired of it fast this year. I fear that last year might have spoiled it for them. LOL
I spent WAY too long waiting for the water to drip. let me tell you. But it was worth it.
Such a beautiful picture Lolli! I love it. Wow. I love that you had one snow player. The kids in our neighborhood didn’t want anything to do with it on Tuesday morning! They thought the school delay was fantastic. I hope we are all done with snow now. Crossing my fingers!
It’s crazy isn’t i?
Oh. My. Gosh. That second shot is GORGEOUS. I love love love it!!
We were supposed to have some crazy storm blow in today. Still nothing. I really wish Winter would make up its mind about coming or going!!
Cool dripping water photo. I love seeing your pics. My camera is the equivalent of an instamatic. I miss my old 35 mm from predigital days.
It’s funny. On our snow day on Tuesday my 7 yo was the only one who braved the snow. The girls were not interested in playing in the snow. I miss the days when all 3 of mine would spend hours playing outside.
Wow! That is some severe weather extremes! We think we have that in LA, but the truth is we DON’T!
Oh my, that image is simply spectacular. I should take a shot of our back yard right now for comparison :)
I imagine he had a great time outside.*brave boy*
