Peanut Butter came out of the kitchen chuckling this morning. He said that he’d walked in the kitchen to find Apple with his head tilted back, pouring an envelope of powdered vanilla instant breakfast into his mouth. PB said to him, “Hmm…Pure sugar!” Apple said, “No…Vanilla!”
It got me thinking about my comment yesterday about Apple being a perfect 2 year old. Here are just a few examples of how well he has perfected being a two-year-old (ie–only the ones I caught on camera!)
Here’s the morning that I carelessly left the margarine and syrup out after the big kids had waffles for breakfast. In the hubbub of getting kids out the door for school, Apple quietly helped himself to the margarine and syrup, minus the waffles. What a mess! (this picture is not for the weak-stomached! Yuck! He was literally eating margarine by the handful. I don’t think any syrup escaped the jug, but the jug sure did get greasy!)
And then there was the day that I made Apple a peanut butter and cinnamon sandwich (our kids’ special creation). I was running in and out of the kitchen….Apple decided that I hadn’t put enough cinnamon on the bread. Another big mess.
Apple loves to color and draw, and often doesn’t limit himself to the traditional paper and coloring books. I guess he was going for the sophisticated mustached look.
Hide the water bottles! Apple loves to squirt and soak. I don’t mind so much when it’s the kitchen counter, but the piano is another story…
I guess I don’t make very good sandwiches…
