With Peanut Butter being gone for 2 weeks, and my brother-in-law taking finals, it was the perfect week for a sleep-over! My sister Andrea and her daughter Vanessa came to stay with us Monday and Tuesday. We had so much fun with them!
For FHE on Monday night, we tried out my new fondue pot. The kids were fascinated with the skinny forks, and loved dipping strawberries and marshmallows in warm chocolate. YUM! (we had other dipping options, but nobody seemed to need anything else!) PB called in the middle of our fondue fun, and complained that we never do anything that exciting for FHE when HE’S home. Haha! I guess we’ll be doing it again soon…
On Tuesday, Andrea and I took the 3 little kids to the Rescource Center. The kids were in a crafty mood–paints, play dough (Vanessa thought it was yummy!), and food coloring droppers. Reese looked like a rainbow when she left. :)
Last night, we made indoor s’mores. The kids love roasting marshmallows in the kitchen. I cooked the best marshmallow EVER last night. You should have tasted it. Perfectly melted on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside but not burnt at all. Heavenly!
It was sad to see them leave today. It was SO nice for me to have somebody else around.
We’ve almost made it to the end of PB’s Egypt trip. After several nearly-sleepless nights at the beginning of the trip and lots and lots of working hours, PB was able to successfully pull off the trade show that he has been preparing for since he started this job in November. We’ve even heard from him a couple of times. :) We’re looking forward to Saturday when he comes home!
