You should see my pantry. It is filled with boxes upon boxes of dry cereal.
Sad thing is…I’m not a fan of cold cereal. It doesn’t fill me for very long and I end up wanting to snack an hour later. Also? Cereal is not a convenient on-the-go breakfast choice and sometimes we all need a breakfast that can run out the door with us. Give me a hot breakfast every day of the week and I’m a happy camper.
When my kids were younger, keeping them fed and filled was much easier. Cheerios in the morning, PB&J in the afternoon and mac n’ cheese at night. (Don’t worry….I fed them other things, too, but I swear they would have been happy with this menu day after day for years!)
Now that they’re older, not only do they have bigger appetites but they have more “refined” tastes. I love it…mostly. I can try new dishes and they (usually) don’t turn their noses up at trying new things. But…they do require MORE of everything. Especially the boys.
We have discovered a new favorite quick and easy hot breakfast – Tyson® Day Starts™ breakfast sandwiches! Here’s a little about Tyson Foods’ very first line of breakfast items:
- Tyson® Day Starts™ breakfast sandwiches are high in protein and made with high quality ingredients (real cheese, veggies, fresh eggs, and quality Tyson® sausage, ham and chicken).
- They’re ready to eat in less than two minutes – perfect for on-the-go breakfasts or breakfast at home. Enough said!
- Tyson® Day Starts™ sandwiches are available in seven delicious varieties, including biscuit sandwiches, breakfast flatbreads and wrapped omelets.
We tried out two varieties of Tyson® Day Starts™ sandwiches…and can’t wait to try more! We bought the Egg, Sausage, and Cheese Flatbreads and the Southern Style Chicken Break Fillet Biscuits. Other varieties include: Ham, Onions & Green Peppers Wrapped Omelets, Egg, Cheese & Bacon Breakfast Flatbreads, Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit Sandwich, and Cheese Wrapped Omelets.
I was most excited to try the Southern Style Chicken Break Fillet Biscuits….and so were Twizzler and Reese. I was insanely impressed that the chicken was…REAL chicken. Look at the biscuit with a bite taken out of it:
Doesn’t it look delicious? It was! Just ask Reese:
CandyMan and AJ tried the Egg, Sausage, and Cheese Flatbreads…and I stole a few bites of AJ’s. It was amazing! As much as I love chicken biscuits, the flatbread totally won me over.

I feel the same way about breakfasts- as much as I love eating cereal, I’m always hungry in an hour. Hot breakfasts are better, and easy hot breakfasts are the best! These look awesome.

Too often we have ‘cold’ breakfasts, it’s always nice to start the day with something warm, I seem to get more energy from warm meals. i need to try these!

I like that they have the flatbread version! Too many companies only have breakfast items that appeal to kids. I need something for my husband and me too!

I am not a fan of cold cereal, either. There is something comforting about biting into a warm meal first thing in the morning. I love the chicken sandwiches the best… my husband is a sausage egg and cheese guy.

And now I kind of want a breakfast sandwich. At around 11pm. *shakes fist at you guys*
