August is a travel month for me. Between the family road trip to New York City and Boston (As of the time of publishing this post I’m currently on the road in a minivan full of kids, suitcases and snacks). In a few weeks, my 14 year old daughter and I head West for my yearly trip to visit my mom.
I look forward to traveling of all sorts but when I’m not behind the wheel, I like to have something to keep me entertained. I love to read and I always have a book with me, but sometimes flipping through a magazine is more conducive to a travel day. But once one magazine is done, what’s next? (How many times have you read the airplane magazine cover to cover…twice?).
The Next Issue App could not have come at a better time for me. I haven’t even started my traveling yet and I am already addicted to this app! Once travel season is done for me, you can bet you’ll find me reading my favorite magazines on the Next Issue App while I’m waiting for kids to be done with piano lessons, when I’m waiting for kids to be finished with scout meetings, when I’m kicking my feet up to relax at night. You name it!
After I signed up for my Next Issue account, I was able to scroll through their selection of magazines, from People to Cooking Light to Consumer Reports to Popular Photography. I was giddy as I checked off so many magazines that I was truly interested in and added them to my personal library. I was then able to select issues of each magazine to download to my iPad to read anytime (yes, even offline). If I sound overly excited it’s because I really am loving Next Issue THAT much!

Here’s what I love about the Next Issue App:
One-stop access: In a single app, Next Issue gives me unlimited access to all of my favorite magazines, including the most current issues and back issues, too.
Simple and Green: No paper means no waste AND no stacks and stacks of magazines to toss or ponder about hanging on to. I used to love to tear out pages of magazines to “clip” the recipes I wanted to try. Now, with Next Issue, I can just take a quick screen shot to save the recipe for later. SO much easier and less clutter, too!
Easy to navigate: I love how easy it is to flip through the magazine, a page at a time, but I also love being able to skip ahead to the section that I’m most interested in with the discreet but easy-to-use menu that comes up at the bottom of each page. It’s easy to hop back and forth between different magazines, too.
Offline reading: This calls for a hooray! I love that I can download the issues that I’m interested in reading and then have full access to them offline (again – perfect for that traveling-and-waiting-for-kids mom like me!).
One account, 5 devices: The rest of my family can enjoy access to the same subscription (yes, only ONE charge for up to five devices!). So my husband can read his woodworking and men’s health magazines while I’m taking my turn at the wheel…
