….A few of my favorite things. With a twist!
Kat, from Sunshine and Lemonade, a blog that I recently started following, posted a fun tag yesterday and I decided to play along. The idea is that you post 10 of your favorite things…..that start with a particular letter of the alphabet. Kat has “assigned” me the letter L. How fitting! One of my favorite letters!! :) These are in no particular order. This just happens to be the order in which the photos were loaded.
I love to read. I get lost in books. I could read all day if I let myself, and I tend to fly through books because I DO get a little carried away. I lose track of time. My favorite genre? Historical fiction, or historical non-fiction. :) And I would LOVE to have a huge, organized, color-coordinated bookshelf like this:
I love to laugh. PB loves to MAKE people laugh. I guess we’re a good match in that department. He keeps me on my toes. And every once in a while I pull out a good joke or funny comment on him. I love to catch him off guard. :) This picture was taken a few minutes after PB finished his stand-up comedy routine on the cruise ship last December.
Particularly new life. I love babies and the great privilege I have had to bring 5 beautiful children into this world. I am grateful to be alive at this time in history. Times are hard, but our blessings are great. (Thanks, Krista, for letting me borrow a picture of your sweet baby. I can’t believe how much she’s grown since I took these pictures of her! I didn’t have any newborn pictures of my kids on this computer….)
You all know that I love photography. And I have a secret obsession with lenses. Lenses are the great secret behind great photos! If you are looking for a new lens for your camera, ask me first, because I think I know the pros and cons about every lens on the Canon line-up. I have too much information up in my head for my own good. Below is my Christmas present. I’m itching with joy for this baby to arrive!!
I have a great appreciation for Heavenly Father’s beautiful creations, and I am often in awe when I come across a new, breath taking landscape. There are so many amazing places on this earth, from the barren deserts, to the mountains, to the oceans, to the forests. The earth is beautiful!!
I am so privileged to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS!). I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am in awe at the multitude of blessings that he and my Father pour on me each day. I love to read the scriptures, to listen to sacred hymns, and to teach the gospel to my kids. I love the fellowship and the instant family that I have wherever I go, because of the Chruch. I am so blessed!
What can I say about my family? I love them so much, and my life is full because of their love.
I love to learn, and I have gained so much satisfaction from learning new things this year. Just this morning, I spent an hour working with Al on his letters. At 3, he is already writing a handful of letters on his own, and he can copy any letter that I give him. I love watching kids figure out new things. I lvoe the fact that my kids love to learn.
Sometimes that’s what it’s about. Luck. But I love the reminder in this quote:
I have been blessed to have some pretty amazing parents, grandparents, and beyond. I am grateful for my heritage, for the things they have taught me, for the traits that they have passed down to me. This is one of my favorite videos, of my Grandma playing the piano for Nerds and Twizzler back in 2004.
L is also a great letter for things NOT to love, like Lonely, Lost, Loud, Lazy, Lousy, Late…….
Can you think of any others?
If you’d like to play along, I would be happy to send you your OWN letter! Just leave me a comment….
