Speaking of Flash….let’s flash back to February 2003

Friday, January 16, 2009 by Lolli Leave a Comment

Melinda, over at Bloggin’ it from the ‘Burbs is doing a weekly Flashback Friday post. I have loved it the last few weeks, and I swore I’d join in today. It has taken me all day to get to it, since I’ve been at the school volunteering. And then I had to find an old picture to scan. Oh, thank goodness for digital photos! They make life so much easier!

This week’s flashback theme is snow. I looked through a fw old pictures, and then I remembered this one:

I grabbed a scrapbook from 2003 and found it right away. It’s one of my favorite pictures of all time. It was February 2003, and we were in the middle of a huge HUGE snowstorm. We were completely snowed in for days, and I was so worried that I would go into labor early and have no way to get to the hospital. Luckily, Reese came right on time–about 3 weeks later.

I wanted to document my growing belly set against the snow storm, so I handed the camera to CandyMan and posed right outside our front door. The kids were playing at the bottom of our steps, and their positioning was completely random. That’s part of what I love best about it! I’ve got my little ducks in a row, from Reese in my belly, down to 2-year-old Twizzler, 3 1/2-year-old Necco, and 6-year-old KitKat.

There’s part of my that misses that part of my life–in the middle of having babies. But most of me doesn’t miss it. I’m just grateful that I have been blessed with beautiful, healthy kids. I don’t know if my body could handle any more.
