Well, as of about 11:20 am today, my secret is out. Woohoo! It was really hard for me not to tell everyone about my new “assignment”….. About a week and a half ago, our Bishop asked me to be the Primary President in our ward (for those of you not familiar with the lingo, I’ll be in charge of the children’s group in our congregation–that includes about 50 children who are there every Sunday, all of the volunteer teachers, group lessons and music time, quarterly activities, night-time activities for 8-11 year old girls, cub scouts, etc).
I LOVE working in the Primary. It’s really my favorite place to be at church. I’ve been a teacher several times, I’ve been in two different presidencies, and have recently been working with the Activity Days girls every other Thursday night. I am SO EXCITED about this calling, but at the same time, I’m TERRIFIED. This is a big responsibility! I am grateful to have great people working with me, and I know they will be a tremendous help. Plus, the out-going President has offered a lot of support with the transition. At this point, though, I am stressed already with the Holidays coming and my cruise creeping up on us so fast. I need to take a deep breath, have faith, and just enjoy the ride.
