Yesterday, as I walked my son to school, he asked me,
“Mom, are all of those things on the tree going to turn into pinecones? That’s going to be a LOT of pinecones!”
I’ve been carrying my new, not-so-enormous camera with me just about everywhere I go…and I’ve noticed a few things. First, most of my day-to-day comings and goings are pretty un-extraordinary. I spend more time in the car carting kids back and forth than I do anything else away from my computer. Second, there is so much beauty around me. I need to explore, appreciate, and capture it more.
Here’s what I captured this morning:
I’m committing myself to taking more photos of the things around me. To spending more time outside. To looking for more beauty around me. To taking pictures of more than just food.
Not that food pics are a bad thing or anything…
What have you been up to this week? Anything interesting happening around town?

I often think it would be nice to have a camera that isn’t so cumbersome and screams “I take photos!” :)

Thanks! I need something that doesn’t weight 12 pounds to carry around daily! I will look for your further posts on how you are enjoying it!

The new camera is a Samsung NX300 (I’ll be blogging all about it and sharing daily Instagram pics all thru the month of June) – it is SO light compared to my regular camera…and the extra features, like touch screen and sharing straight from the camera are really fun!

We always love seeing the new tiny cones on the pines. :)

what new camera did you get! My son just asked me today why I always carry my camera in the stores . . . I had to explain to him that I couldn’t leave it in the car. But I’m thinking I need something a tad bit smaller to carry around!
