A Closer Look – PhotoStory Friday

Thursday, October 21, 2010 by Lolli 20 Comments

It’s been a busy week but it has flown by so fast. The highlight of the week for sure was the arrival of my new 100mm Macro lens, which is part of my birthday gift from my parents and in-laws. They send me exactly what I want every year….money to spend on myself however I chose.

I’ve discovered that macro photography is a whole new thing that I need to learn and master. It has been harder than I would have pictured. I can’t wait to get some more practice under my belt. Here are just a few photos that I took with the new lens.

Question: this bee looks like he has crystalized on this flower. Any guess as to what happened? He was pretty clearly dead, stuck right to the flower. Odd.

I actually use my 100mm macro lens to take portraits. I like how it separates the object from the background and besides it has a very nice bokeh.

Voted in the contest. I hope you win!
