AJ’s Weight and the Halloween Candy

Saturday, November 1, 2008 by Lolli Leave a Comment

What do AJ and our Halloween candy have in common? Are they both sweet? Hmm…sometimes. Sickeningly sweet? Chewy and sticky? Lots of colors? Nope–both AJ and our Halloween candy weigh 32 pounds. I’ve never had so much candy! Help! I was able to put aside a huge bag of Snickers and Milky Way to use in the Christmas cookies, and the kids ate quite a bit after I weighed it….but I am seriously afraid for myself, having all this candy in the house!

Once KitKat and Twizzler were back home from their sleep-overs, KitKat held the Family Candy Auction. Everyone spread their candy out, scoped out what the siblings had, and bartered for trades.
Twizler was being very quiet and private, with his stash in the kitchen. He was organizing and sorting his stash on the counter, and had made this funny sign:

Now on to the important stuff: I have joined my friend, Safire, in NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month–just a fun group of bloggers out there with a challenge to blog every day during November). There are prizes involved, but I’m really doing it because last year, when I was a young blogger, I thought that Safire’s post-a-day month was SO MUCH FUN to read! I decided back then that I would try it. I’m sure I won’t have a lot to say every day, so I welcome questions and requests. Want to know something about me? This is the month to ask!
