In respect of full disclosure, I wanted to start off by mentioning that this post was sponsored by Sears. However, all the opinions and words are mine.
Could it really be time to start thinking about back to school? Could the summer really be nearly over?
Despite our love for school, getting ready for Back to School at my house is quite a chore. With 5 kids (four of which are in school full time) the back to school shopping is an ordeal to say the least. Next year, not only will all 5 kids will be in school, but my youngest will be starting kindergarten and my oldest, KitKat, will be starting High School. Before I know it, she’ll be heading off to college.
Where has the time gone? Wasn’t KitKat just starting kindergarten last year?
Sears has launched CampusReady to help make the biggest back to school transition–the step to college–a little smoother. You can shop by need, browse by category, learn helpful tips to get ready for college life, and even chat with a live Personal Shopper. Here are a few of the features on CampusReady:
* Shop by dorm room – My favorite dorm style was the Vintage Chic. I can’t even begin to imagine MY college dorm room looking CUTE. It was small and cluttered and packed with necessities. Thank goodness for KitKat’s sake that colleges have made some improvements over the last *cough* 17 years. I love the fact that Sears has coordinating dorm room products and design ideas.
* Shopping checklist I can imagine that I will have no clue where to start to get KitKat ready for college. I mean, I can hardly handle getting her ready for girl’s camp next week. And the things she needs to bring to camp are quite a bit simpler than college. A checklist for college dorm life is a must!
* List of everything your child will need for their first home away from home Wait. She’s going to leave me? I don’t know if I want to think about that. I am going to need all the help I can get.
* Money-Saving tips / Financial planning I LOVED the money saving tips. Heck, I can even use the tips today, like buying used, riding bikes or walking instead of driving, and saving change.
* Apparel must haves/ Clothing categories Shopping for clothes online at Sears is easy and pleasant. As I was browsing the Juniors section, KitKat walked up behind me and said. “Oh! Cute!” The styles definitely caught her eye. Plus, it seemed like everything was on sale. I like sales. :)
* On Facebook? So is Sears CampusReady. Visit the CampusReady App on Facebook for tips and a cool roommate match-up app.
One more cool thing: Since college tuition costs continue to rise, I can only imagine what the price will be when KitKat graduates. What about AJ and the Class of 2023?! Scholarships, all the way! You can enter for a chance to win money toward your child’s college tuition (a total of $25,000!) from Sears and Upromise. Upromise members are automatically entered with a sears.com purchase through Upromise.com, or enter free at sears.com/campusready. See sears.com/campusready for full rules and complete details.
