How to Host Your Best Thanksgiving Ever!

Tuesday, November 8, 2011 by Lolli 4 Comments

How is it possible that Thanksgiving is SO SOON? I have been hosting Thanksgiving dinner since we moved to our current house in 1998, and although it is a LOT of work to prepare a feast like we have every year, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times.

Disclosure: Tara sent me her ebook to review, but as always the opinions expressed in my posts are my own. Links to the ebook landing page are affiliate links, meaning that when you purchase the book, you are helping me. Yay!

Thanksgiving 2009

Thankgiving 2009 with family and friends

I love the feeling of satisfaction as I watch family and friends enjoy the meal I’ve cooked and the desserts I’ve baked.

And, honestly, I love eating the food, too.

Do you host Thanksgiving dinner? Even if you are not the host, you’re probably involved in a Thanksgiving dinner in some fashion. Cooking so much food…and knowing what to cook and when to start and how and what to buy at the store…can be stressful. Thanksgiving should be enjoyable, not stressful!

My good friend, Tara, has written a fantastically entertaining and useful eBook called Your Best Thanksgiving Ever, and I’d love to tell you about it.

Cover of Your Best Thanksgiving Ever!

About the author – Tara Gerner-Ziegmont:

Tara is a wife and mother of two small girls who left a 10-year career as a high school astronomy teacher in 2010 to be an at-home, homeschooling mom, and professional blogger and speaker.

She has been publishing Feels Like Home since 2007, where she writes about a variety of subjects: food and cooking tips, craft ideas, and her own parenting
(mis)adventures that encourage her readers to live happy, fulfilled, productive lives.

About Your Best Thanksgiving Ever eBook:

“It might be your best Thanksgiving ever, but it still won’t be perfect.”

Tara’s first section includes hilarious Thanksgiving mishaps. I laughed along with her kitchen fires and unexpected guests as I recalled less-than perfect Thanksgivings from my past.

The ebook goes on to detail a by-the-day schedule to prepare for Thanksgiving early (to avoid the last-minute rush and stress!). It also includes pages of mouth-watering holiday recipes (with photos!) and a thorough shopping list, as well as place card ideas.

Why read Your Best Thanksgiving Ever?

Here’s what Tara says:

“I created this ebook because I honestly believe that anyone could serve an awesome Thanksgiving meal using the preparations I’ve explained in Your Best Thanksgiving Ever!

No other ebook will take you by the hand, tell you what to buy, what tools and utensils you’ll need, how to prepare the foods, and when to do each step. Your Best Thanksgiving Ever! is the only ebook of its kind.”

I couldn’t agree with her more.

Now, it’s time for me to get my shopping list out and start preparing for Thanksgiving!

It’s not too late to have your best Thanksgiving ever!

One of the toughest things about hosting our first Thanksgiving last year was that nobody helped clean any of the dishes. It took us a long time to clean up and before you knew it everyone was going home. Need a better strategy next time.

Great idea for an ebook. People are always freaked out by the idea of hosting Thanksgiving. Hopefully this will make them love it as much as you (and me!) do.
