**GIVEAWAY CLOSED** Congrats to comment #128, musiccityace . She’s our winner!
Raise your hand if you don’t like chocolate. Yeah, that’s what I thought. As a child, I was not particularly fond of chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk (you get the picture). Give me a chocolate candy bar, and I’d be happy. Something changed as I got older. Now, many years removed from my childhood, I can’t get enough chocolate. As much as I love chocolate, though, there is good chocolate, and there is not-worth-the-calories chocolate. Am I right?
When I got an email from Bake me a Wish! asking if I’d like to review a cake (the Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake) from their site, I didn’t have to think twice. Send it over! I also knew well enough that if I wasn’t the one to open the package, I would probably never see a piece of it. My kids have skipped over my childhood chocolate finicky habits and progressed to full-fledged chocoholics already.
While we were waiting for the cake to arrive I found out a little about Bake me a Wish! Not only do they make gourmet cakes for every occasion, but they also have a good will campaign. Operation: Birthday Cake is a program launched by Bake me a Wish! to provide gourmet birthday cakes to our troops overseas. Since soldiers often miss out on a traditional birthday celebration, Bake a Wish! found a way to give them that birthday experience – to still feel remembered and valued. Back to our cake….The package arrived one afternoon while I was picking the kids up from camp. When we got home, the cake was still cold from their super shipping job. We didn’t waste any time. Knives, forks, and plates, a few glasses of milk…..and we dug in. KitKat called the imported Belgian Chocolate plaque before the first slice was even made.
Let me attest that this was totally-worth-the-calories kind of chocolate. Melt-in-your-mouth chocolate. Is-three-pieces-too-much-before-dinner? chocolate. Let me just read you the description to this cake: “The Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake: Moist and fudgy brownie cake goes through three chocolate “passes:” first, it’s enrobed in rich chocolate, then completely blanketed with dark chocolate shaves and, finally, milk and dark chocolate glazes drizzled all over.”
Final consensus: Bake me a Wish! cakes are better in bulk, too. We already need another.
