Chocolate Cake is Definitely Better in Bulk (giveaway!)

Thursday, July 16, 2009 by Lolli Leave a Comment

**GIVEAWAY CLOSED** Congrats to comment #128, musiccityace of If You Think Round is Funny. She’s our winner!

Raise your hand if you don’t like chocolate. Yeah, that’s what I thought. As a child, I was not particularly fond of chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk (you get the picture). Give me a chocolate candy bar, and I’d be happy. Something changed as I got older. Now, many years removed from my childhood, I can’t get enough chocolate. As much as I love chocolate, though, there is good chocolate, and there is not-worth-the-calories chocolate. Am I right?

When I got an email from Bake me a Wish! asking if I’d like to review a cake (the Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake) from their site, I didn’t have to think twice. Send it over! I also knew well enough that if I wasn’t the one to open the package, I would probably never see a piece of it. My kids have skipped over my childhood chocolate finicky habits and progressed to full-fledged chocoholics already.

While we were waiting for the cake to arrive I found out a little about Bake me a Wish! Not only do they make gourmet cakes for every occasion, but they also have a good will campaign. Operation: Birthday Cake is a program launched by Bake me a Wish! to provide gourmet birthday cakes to our troops overseas. Since soldiers often miss out on a traditional birthday celebration, Bake a Wish! found a way to give them that birthday experience – to still feel remembered and valued. Click here to see more on this sweet cause.

Back to our cake….The package arrived one afternoon while I was picking the kids up from camp. When we got home, the cake was still cold from their super shipping job. We didn’t waste any time. Knives, forks, and plates, a few glasses of milk…..and we dug in. KitKat called the imported Belgian Chocolate plaque before the first slice was even made.

Let me attest that this was totally-worth-the-calories kind of chocolate. Melt-in-your-mouth chocolate. Is-three-pieces-too-much-before-dinner? chocolate. Let me just read you the description to this cake: “The Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake: Moist and fudgy brownie cake goes through three chocolate “passes:” first, it’s enrobed in rich chocolate, then completely blanketed with dark chocolate shaves and, finally, milk and dark chocolate glazes drizzled all over.”

Final consensus: Bake me a Wish! cakes are better in bulk, too. We already need another.

Are you hungry yet? Do you want one now? How would you like to win an entire cake for yourself? Bake me a Wish! has offered a Triple Chocolate Enrobed Brownie Cake (a $39.95 value) for one of my readers.

To enter, just take a look at all of the amazing cakes that Bake me a Wish! has to offer and tell me which cake you would like to try.

For extra entries, you can do any of the following (please leave a separate comment for each action performed):
* Follow me (or better yet, you can also subscribe to Better in Bulk)
* Follow me on twitter (@1momof5) and tweet about the contest (up to once a day!)
* Add me to your blog roll an/or add my button to your blog
* Stumble the post, kirtsy the post, etc.

This giveaway will end on Monday 7/27 at 10:00 pm Eastern time. I will chose a comment number via Random.org, email the winner, and post the winner’s info at the top of this post. Good luck!
