The Traditional Christmas Morning Picture {PSF Give Me Your Best Shot}

Thursday, December 26, 2013 by Lolli 13 Comments

Every year since my youngest son was born, we’ve taken a Christmas morning picture under the Christmas tree. The picture HAS to be taken before a single present is opened. The tradition started because Dad was typically the last person in the family to make it out of bed. The picture was created as a way to pass the time and keep kids occupied and distracted until Dad came downstairs and gave the go-ahead to start opening presents. But somehow, between Christmas 2005 and today, the Christmas picture became a tradition that has stood on its own. I love it.

Despite the two cases of the flu that threatened to mess up our Christmas plans, we had a wonderful holiday. Plenty more pictures will be coming soon!

I hope each of you have had a fantastic holiday and are looking forward to the start of 2014 (I know I am!).

    I used to take more pictures of the present-opening, wanting to get all of the expressions for each of the gifts. This year, I just tried to catch each of the first presents and then set my camera down and enjoyed the rest of the morning. And I agree – I got some really fun bed-head shots with the ukulele! lol
