Conquering Cold and Flu Season With Kleenex #ShareTheSoft

Monday, November 26, 2012 by Lolli 1 Comment

OJCold and Flu Season is here once again, and although (knock on wood) we’re not sick at the moment, I know better than to think that we’re safe for very long.

With 5 kids in public school, I know that the sniffles…and the coughs….and the sore throats are right around the corner. It’s inevitable.

As mom to five kids, my job is two-fold: keep the family sniffle-free for as long as possible and help them feel better fast when they do catch a bug.

My strategy in both cases is just about the same…

How to PREVENT and CONQUER Colds and Flus

  • Drink lots of water
  • Load up on orange juice and other vitamin C-rich foods supplements
  • Get plenty of sleep
  • Wash hands regularly, especially at school and other public places

When colds and flus hit us, we add a couple of things to that list. First, we stock up on Kleenex (although my boys seem to STILL prefer their sleeves. Eww!), we fill up the humidifiers, and we get comfortable.

I love that the new Kleenex 4-packs at Walmart are carrying special $4 movie credits from VUDU.com. I picked some up today and already redeemed my movie credits for Arthur Christmas (we love watching Christmas movies all month long!).

About VUDU:

I’ve been using VUDU.com for a while now, and love it for no-strings-attached, on demand movie rentals and purchases.

Here’s the skinny: Create a free account at VUDU.com, connect a device or two to your account, enter a method of payment (you’re only charged when you rent or buy…no membership fees), and enjoy your movies. Rentals are $2 for 2 days, and movies for purchase vary. You can watch VUDU movies and TV shows on your computer, HDTV, bluray player, iPad, and select gaming devices.

And with the $4 VUDU movie credit on Kleenex packages right now, you can rent two movies for free or put the credit towards a movie you’d like to own like I did.

Note: I had a little bit of trouble finding the VUDU-Kleenex packaging. I checked my normal Walmrt and the Walmart in Florida near our vacation house and neither had it in stock. Just this morning, I was able to find tons of packages at another local Walmart a little further away from my house. It never hurts to call your local Walmart to check for availability before heading out to the store.

Once you’ve got your VUDU movie credits from participating Kleenex packages (available only at Walmart), head to www.walmart.com/kleenex to redeem. The $4 credit is added to your account and will be automatically deducted the next time you rent or purchase a movie at VUDU.com.

Be sure to also follow Kleenex on Facebook to stay up to date on deals and tips.

Kleenex + a movie at home = #ShareTheSoft comfort (and a sure way to conquer cold and flu season)
