Dancing With the Rockettes at #BlogHer12 – PSF GMYBS

Friday, August 3, 2012 by Lolli 5 Comments

For the last few days, I’ve been planning to get my PSF post ready this afternoon, emailing the linky code over to Cecily like I usually do on Thursday afternoons, and being totally on top of things. Then this morning, after working out with the Rockettes in Radio City Music Hall and coming back for a quick breakfast, I realized with horror that today was Friday, not Thursday like I’d had in the calendar in my mind all along.

Sigh.

Sorry to keep you all waiting (did anyone but Cecily and me notice?).

The cool thing is that I’ve got an incredible story to tell. This morning, I woke up at 6:00 (quite a feat at Blogher, let me tell you) and walked down the street to Radio City Music Hall where I was led to the rehearsal dance halls that the Rockettes use to practice for their big shows.

I can’t say that I loved seeing my early-morning self in the floor-to-ceiling mirrors so early in the morning (especially standing next to beauties with gorgeous dancer’s bodies), and I certainly did not make even one “eye-high kick” like the Rockettes are famous for, but I DID learn a couple of the Rockettes’ dance moves and secrets of the show.

Totally, 100% worth waking up early for.

As an interesting bit of information, the two Rockettes who led us through a couple quick routines have been Rockettes for 8 years and 6 years. They both said that they are living their dream – to have a job as a dancer. Did I mention that this was an incredibly cool experience?

Thanks to Caltrate and Centrum for sponsoring the event!
