Danielson Designs – Tribute & Giveaway

Tuesday, September 15, 2009 by Lolli Leave a Comment

I don’t often pay tribute to a business, but then again it isn’t often that I come across a business that resonates with me like Danielson Designs does. I was approached last month about reviewing a custom made sign or frame from Danielson Designs, and thought I’d check out their site. I instantly loved their products, but I struggled for weeks about what to say on our sign. This is a big deal, I thought to myself. The things that I chose to hang on my wall or display in my home say a lot about what our family’s focus is.

It took my a while to catch CandyMan at a time when he was open to discussing our wall decor. He works many hours a day to keep our new business running. When I finally caught him, a quote came immediately to his mind. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but I understood it immediately:

“The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all.”

The quote, strangely enough, is from the movie Princess Diaries. It has particular meaning to CandyMan right now because of his decision–our decision–to follow his dream and create a foreign language software program. It has taken a lot of guts….a lot of blood, sweat, and tears….to chose to put everything on the line and go for this dream, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’ve enjoyed getting to know Danielson Designs, and finding out how they saw a need in their community and used their skills and creativity to solve that need. After reading their story about their hometown of Trinidad, Colorado, I had the urge to move there myself (I have a strange, unexplainable desire to move to Colorado). They even have a cheesy poem on their website. How cool are they?

It gives me hope to see a company that has started with a vision for good and has built it up and made it successful. I hope that will be us someday (soon).

Danielson Designs would like to give one of my readers their very own custom sign or frame. You can pick anything in their store.

The question is, what would you pick?

And what would YOUR sign say?
