Disneynature’s Chimpanzee Movie Review and Red Carpet Premiere

Tuesday, April 17, 2012 by Lolli 4 Comments

I just returned from a 6 day whirlwind trip in Florida for the red carpet premiere of Disneynature’s Chimpanzee. If you’ve been following my twitter or Facebook pages, you’ve probably seen my frequent photo glimpses into all the fun our little group had, but there is so much more that I’ve been dying to tell you about!

There’s something exhilarating about walking the red carpet, although no matter if I’m casual or dressy, I still feel a little bit out of place with the cameras flashing and the movie stars all around.

All I managed to get for myself was an Instagram shot of me on the red carpet. Darn!

Before I even made it to the red carpet, I spotted two of my kids’ favorite Disney Channel actresses, “Rocky and Cece” from Shake It Up and so I took a minute to sneak a picture or two.

Chimpanzee Review

Chimpanzee is my favorite Disneynature film so far, and I have enjoyed everything that Disneynature has produced so far. I instantly fell in love with the film’s main character, Oscar, who we meet at the very beginning (both of the movie and of his life). Oscar is a newborn chimp in the forests of West Africa. Chimpanzee follows Oscar and his family over approximately 700 days – and it is all at once endearing, thrilling, amusing and educational. I learned quite a bit about chimps, but I didn’t feel like I was learning. I felt like I was being entertained.

Oscar is adorable and reminded me so much of a human baby and toddler. He is playful and curious and smart. The relationships and interactions between Oscar and the other chimpanzees in his group surprised me – and reminded me that we (chimps and humans) really are very similar.

The cinematography was breathtakingly beautiful and the narrative (by Tim Allen) was perfectly executed. Seeing this visually fantastic on the big screen was a huge benefit (although I know I will still enjoy it as a movie at home…).

Who should see Chimpanzee?

Chimpanzee is rated G for general audiences, but I would recommend it for children (and adults!) who can sit through a movie. If your young children have a hard time sitting still through an animated movie, Chimpanzee might be difficult for them to sit through. However, I think many young children will simply enjoy watching Oscar, the cute little toddler, and his antics.

See Chimpanzee, Save Chimpanzees

Chimpanzee opens on Friday, April 20, 2012. See Chimpanzee during opening week (April 20-26) and a donation will be made in your honor to the Jane Goodall Institute to help protect chimpanzees.

Disney and Global Resort Homes invited me to Florida to attend the red carpet premiere of Chimpanzee and other events this past week. My travel and most expenses were paid for, but as always opinions are my own.

This technology will help you to retrofit your existing housing inventory at reasonable prices and with minimal disruption to put in a
fresh twist for wooing homebuyers. Furthermore, gather ideas in the Internet
by reading forums or asking anyone who has experiences in creating a sound system at home.
You are also trying to make them sound good on all devices, which means
you’ll want to burn a reference CD to experience on a boom box, a vehicle stereo, and your property system.

And here’s a good tip: if your bag’s cleaning instructions call for air drying in a tumble dryer, try
throwing a few tennis balls in with the sleeping bag.
Distinctive and fashionable, baby diaper bags in camo designs
are perfect for dad. When a heavier weight than this is placed
on the shoulders, it will cause imbalance
    and pull the person backwards.
