Do you have the New Year’s Spirit?

Monday, January 5, 2009 by Lolli Leave a Comment

It’s the 2009 New Year’s Spirit Award!!

My new friend, Debilyn, just sent me my second blog award. Debilyn is down-to-earth, fun, and REAL, and I feel like I have known her for ages. Her little award came on a good day….or should I say, it was a good thing to get on a bad day. I was so excited about getting back into my routine today. I set out for some simple errands, and had a horrible unproductive time. I travelled to 4 stores before I finally gave up and went over to my friend, Safire’s, house to hang out and watch Sense and Sensibility. I have a horrible pain in my lower neck, and the package that my Mom mailed on December 23rd–FedEx next-day, no less (with mint brownies and an iTunes gift card inside!!) was apparently lost in the mail. I am so sad!

Wait. I think this was supposed to be an uplifting award and post….Here’s what Debilyn said about me (why she gave me this award):

Lolli because she is one of the most enthusiastic people I’ve met and I love that about her!

Oops! I guess I’d better turn up the gratitude and turn down the whining.

Ok, here are the rules for this award:
1. You must be a true lover of the New Year to receive this award. The person to whom you give the award must also be in love with the New Year.
2. List 5 things that you love about the New Year. If you can’t limit it to 5 things, then keep going till you run out of space.
3. Pass the award along to as many people as you like. That can be 1 or 50. It’s up to you! But keep the New Year cheer going.
4. Let your recipients know that you have tagged them by leaving a comment on their site. Also, link back to the person who gave you the award.

Here are the 5 things that I love about the New Year:

1. This is the year of having KitKat as our personal babysitter. She can babysit for us and only us. After next year, we’ll be competing with everyone else for her weekend time. But, believe me, we have first dibs. Sorry.

2. 2009 is the year of PeanutButter. I have high hopes for our company. Either this is the year that we make it, or we start all over.

3. I am officially in my mid-30s this year (I turn 35 in October!). Yes, I celebrate my years! Maybe I won’t feel so positive about it in another 20+ years….

4. I know I can only get better with my photography, so 2009 will see great improvements in my photographs! At least I hope…

5. I love the possibilities and potential of the new year. I’m excited to see what it has in store.

And here are a few people I’d like to pass this along to:

WishTrish because she is FUN…plus she’s there every time I turn around. Haha! She has a delightful blog.

Wonder Woman (not the one from TV!) because she has such a wonderful way with words, and a great sense of humor. She is not only my new friend, but my scripture study buddy for the year!

BlueViolet because she writes such fun and intersting posts (I especially love her Saturday Stupidity).

Melinda because she is the best commenter ever! I love seeing her name in my e-mail inbox. She also has a super cute family which she loves to death (you can tell!)

Chillygator because she makes me laugh. She is also a great photographer. Well, you know how I feel about taking pictures. It’s easy to connect with people who share common interests.
