Easy Spring Craft for Kids: Dry Erase Funny Face Cards

Wednesday, April 9, 2014 by Lolli 11 Comments

Who is ready for easy Spring crafts for kids?

My crafting friend, Lisa, made these fun, super-easy dry erase photo cards for one of her kids recently and the whole family had such a blast drawing funny faces on family members that she knew she needed to share. I am dying of the cuteness!

How fun would these little laminated photo cards be inside your kids’ Easter baskets? They are a perfect non-candy Easter treat that will provide hours of entertainment.

How to make Dry Erase Funny Face Cards

It’s so easy to make these! Just take a photo of your child, print it on quality paper, laminate it, and have loads of fun drawing, erasing, drawing and erasing again and again with a dry eraser marker and a piece of dark felt.

Tips:

  • If taking a picture with your digital camera, use a solid background like a wall or white sheet.
  • You can photoshop out the background too. Negative space all around is a good idea to draw hats and feathers and bow ties or whatever.
  • Use dry erase markers.
  • Dark felt squares hides the smudges from erasing best.

This is so cute. I would love to make a family gift doing this. I would take a picture of each family member and make up a dog house so that someone could be put in there along with being drawn on. What fun. Thanks for sharing this, I just happen to have a laminating machine that needs some projects.

This is a great idea! When my daughter was younger, my husband printed a picture of her on paper, and drew the picture into a boy, and would say it was his son bob, she would get so mad at him!

My kids would have a ball with this, very cute and silly idea. I would have to add a picture of my hubby to this. I wouldn’t mind hanging this in my office, it will give my kids something to do while I work.

such a cute idea! I could make some of these to use with the kids I work with as an activity in speech (read or listen and draw what I say). Thanks for sharing!
